The GTA IV Vehicles Archive

WARNING! SPOILERS THROUGHOUT THIS TOPIC! NO SPOILER TAGS WILL BE USED IN ANY POSTS! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I am making this topic as an archive with all the information from an old topic I made to be added here. These upcoming posts will include info on Gang, Rare, Custom Paintjob, Unique, Mission Specific, Modded, Brucie's Exports, Stevie's cars and Sports cars, boats and choppers. I'll post as many photos and will always include a walkthrough and information on the vehicles background and any tips or commets regarding how to get it, and a rareness and difficulty rating.

Recently I have recevied permission from Lancet Jades to use information from his guide so I will be adding such info soon, meaning an expansion of the database and more info overall. Such quoted info will be credited.

I'll try and include photos but I am unable to take any. If anyone has any pics they would like to share pleasy either paste them or send me the codes via PM. If you would be interested in taking a large part in maintaining and helping out with this topic please PM me also. I will try and get back to you as soon as possible. Anyone with coding experience, avatar or banners that they can make also please PM me. Ok, this topic will have one post per category e.g Gang Cars have a post, Modded etc.

Due to the large amount of quoted material, any posts that have been taken from the Lancet Jades guide are marked with a *. There is also a key here detailing exactly what each term means, and what lusters on cars there are to be found. This key is quoted from the aformentioned guide.

Lustered - Lustered vehicles are vehicles with a "luster" to them. A luster
is a secondary color that can only be seen well in certain light (try
direct sunlight from 12 PM to 5 PM). The vehicles with lusters are
predominantly black, but some are silver, and a select few (only one at this
time) is dark green.

There are six known luster colors at this time: red, blue, green, yellow,
purple, and orange. Of these, orange, purple, and red are
the most visible, although luster visibility depends on time of day, base car color (usually
black), and the vehicle itself (lusters on Sultans are easier to see than on
Dukes, for example). It is not known yet whether all vehicles that can be
lustere can have all known colors. Orange is especially unknown, as it
often looks like either red or yellow, depending on the vehicle.

Some lustered vehicles seem to also be found in traffic, including vehicles
that cannot be found lustered in missions. So far, the only colors seen in
traffic are green and purple, but blue and possibly red may also be. Despite
this, I have yet to physically match up a luster vehicle found in traffic
directly aside one from a mission, so there may be differences anyways I
can't see at the moment.

Besides that information, there is little unifying theory behind lusters,
such as what colors the vehicle can be (silver and dark green threw a wrench
in that), what vehicle have what colors, and so on. Beyond the basic mechanics
of how lusters work, it's likely a case-by-case basis, hence the following
Luster Table, listing what colors known vehicles have (mission-based ONLY).

LUSTER TABLE:
Banshee (silver) - Red, Blue, Green, Yellow
Cavalcade - Red, Blue, Green, Yellow
Comet (silver) - Red, Blue, Green
Contender - Blue, Green, Purple
Coquette - Red, Blue, Green, Purple, Yellow
Dukes - Red, Blue, Yellow
Huntley Sport - Blue, Yellow
Lokus - Red, Blue, Green, Purple
Merit (silver) - Red, Green, Blue
Oracle (silver) - Red, Green, Yellow
PMP 600 - Red, Blue, Green, Purple, Yellow
Sabre GT - Red, Blue, Yellow
Schafter - Red, Yellow
Sentinel - Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange
Stallion - Red, Blue, Green, Purple, Yellow
Sultan - Red, Blue, Green, Purple, Yellow
SuperGT - Red, Green, Yellow
Vincent (green) - Red, Blue, Green

BP - Bulletproof. This vehicle will not take damage from bullets. Windows
cannot be damaged, and shots will not count towards the car being
destroyed. Unlike the previous GTAs, tires are apparently also immune to
being popped by gunfire.

FP - Fireproof. This vehicle will not catch fire or otherwise take damage
from molotovs. Tires can still catch fire unfortunately.

EP - Explosionproof. This car is immune to explosive damage, such as
from grenades, rocket launchers, or exploding cars. Does not stop the
car itself from exploding if somehow critically damaged.

DP - Damageproof. This car cannot be damaged by bashing it around (into
other cars, walls, etc.) or by melee attacks (unproven). The car will
still take cosmetic damage, such as dents and scrapes (even to the point
of impeding functions, such as a wheel well being destroyed).

CP - Comprehensiveproof. This combines the qualities of bulletproof,
fireproof, explosionproof, and damageproof.

UJ - Unjackable. Now that even locked cars can be jacked by breaking the
windows, UJ means that Niko will simply refuse to break the windows and
get in. Even breaking the windows anyways, he still refuses to open the
doors.

Beater - A rustbucket. One of the rusty, falling-apart cars that
occasionally spawn. Used in the first nine levels of the Little Jacob's
drug delivery missions.

Unique - This vehicle is unique and found in story missions only, or other
limited-time availability missions, and thus can be missed altogether.

Hybrid Grill - This is a rather specialized term. Some PMP 600s in a few
missions (check the vehicle list for which have it) have a special
"hybrid" style grill not seen with other PMP 600s. It is called hybrid
because it's a cross between the normal grill (a lot of vertical bars),
and the "Mafia" PMP 600 grill (a few vertical bars with a mesh backing).
The hybrid grill has a lot of vertical bars and the mesh backing.

So far, the PMP 600 is the only vehicle known to have a completely
different grill used only in story mission vehicles (with no pattern at
that).

Tuner - A "tuner" car is a special modified version of the vehicle,
usually adding spoilers and other modifications. These often come in
only one color. They still have the same name as the base vehicle, so a
Tuner Sentinel is still labeled "Sentinel" in the game. A lot of tuner
cars in this game are NOT "unique," but found randomly on the street
(albeit rare at times), and thus will not be included in this guide
unless otherwise warranted.

Rare - This is used in the guide as an "unlockable" vehicle.

Unlockable - This term in my guide denotes a vehicle that is only
infinitely available either through story missions and/or by unlocking it
at some point through the story, whether by completing a mission,
finishing a side mission, or even a vehicle that is only available during
a side mission, but is repeatedly available by doing the mission over and
over at your leisure.

Unobtainable - A vehicle that, for whatever reason, cannot be obtained
and/or stored with its properties.

NOTE: During some missions, AI drivers that you chase are given "super"
stats: speed, acceleration, turning, etc, designed to ensure that you
cannot catch up to them until the game deems it okay (usually involves
the target reaching their destination intact). If you are in danger of
catching up or passing them (or if you take a shortcut to do so), they
hyper-accelerate to stay in the lead. They also tend to slow down and
"wait" for you if you fall too far behind, although they never stop
completely. This goes along with the fact such chases are usually
scripted.

How to Damage Proof Cars!

Ok, so are you getting really pissed when due to a slight lapse of concentration you ruin your favourite car? Are you too scared to drive your best rides for fear of damaging them and then risking losing any unique paintjobs? Don't want to use cheats? I have the solution!

To damageproof your car simply go on a date with any of Niko's girlfriends (although it is recommended you do so with a story mode girlfriend so you don't lose any girlfriends or perks) and when you pick them up in the car, scare them. The easiest way is to break a window in the car and shoot out of it. After they are scared and leave the car, that car is now damage proof! This really works and you can save up to 2 damage proof cars at a time.

Rare Vehicles

LCPD Police Maverick

This vehicle is not too rare, being found at a 3 star and over, but very hard to get a hold of due to it spawning in the air. But I will attempt to walk you through it. First of all head over to the Libertonian Mueseum in Algonquin just off Middle Park. It is the building on the map on the east side of the park. The one where you do the Mueseum Piece mission. Climb up the side of the building via the scaffolding round the back and reach the roof. Then shoot at some cops and kill them or use cheats to get a 3-4 star. Once the helicopter arrives, use your sniper to shoot the pilot dead when he is hovering or flying over the roof itself. If done correctly it will crash but not explode on the rooftop.

Now this will take some attempts as it usually crashes off the roof, or spins and flies off the roof. So don't get frustrated and just keep trying. Once it is safely landed, kill any cops on board and steal it.

Playoby X's Gold Patriot

This is Playboy X's ride that can be found in front of his crib everytime you go to do a mission for him, except for the Holland Play. It is a Patriot with a unique golden paintjob that you won't find anywhere else. Just jack it, drive it to a save spot and it's yours! It also first appears out front when you do the mission for Elizabeta Torres, Blow Your Cover.

Sultan RS

I am putting this infamous car here because althoguh it is unique it can be fonud in Brucie's races and so (also due to its easily accesbile location and regular spawning) it is avalble to grab easily. It can be found behind the old manision at the top of the curly dirt path in Westdyke, North Alderney, where you do the mission To Live and Die in Alderney.

Hung out to Dry Laundromat

This is the van driven by the Laundromat owner. Instead of
going to the front of the building, go around back and get inside. When
Niko breaks the window to get in, you'll fail the mission for scaring
the dry cleaner. Just drive it to a parking spot.
This vehicle can appear randomly on the streets, but ONLY if you are driving one yourself. It is thus still unique, as unless you obtain it in the missions it is available in, you won't see one elsewhere.

Black Mafia PMP 600 With Hybrid Grill

This is a normal looking Mafia PMP 600 (gloss black coloring,
and a small spoiler on the rear), except that it has a hybrid grill. The
description of the hybrid grill can be found in the list of terms in an
earlier section.

These cars are parked outside of the Museum in various places.
When you exit the building, shoot the guards near them and jack one,
using it to escape the area and pass the mission, then park it at a
safehouse. There are a total of four around the museum. Or... Instead of waiting until the end, jack a car at the start and
park it, then complete the mission.

White Mafia PMP 600 With Hybrid Grill

This is the same as the Black "Mafia" PMP 600 with hybrid
grill, except that it is gloss white instead of black. This makes it an
all-around better prize. These cars are parked outside of the Museum in various places, most of which are to the sides and behind the museum.
This white variant can be found around the front side, next to the clsoed main entrance, and neaer the Jewish Mobs limos (either a Cognoscenti or Stretch).

Willard

For some reason, this car doesn't have a handling line that makes it spawn normally in traffic. It will only show up during the missions Bleed Out, The Snow Storm (if you're lucky), and Peggorino's Pride. For Peggorino's Pride, I would guess that it would be Unobtainable; two swerve down the street trying to block you while you chase the Ancelotties who stole Peggorino's peace offering. For The Snow Storm, it only shows up if you're INCREDIBLY lucky. I saw it once while driving through Algonquin to get to the hospital, that was it. For Bleed Out, as most everyone already knows, one is driven by Dardan. This is probably the easiest to obtain, although the process is very annoying. If you just take it and drive it to your safehouse, you'll fail the mission and will see a cutscene. You have to drive down the street just enough so that you can run back to Roman's car, drive Roman's Car up to the Willard and past it (keep the same amount of distance), and repeat until you get to the first safehouse. I'm not sure what happens if you park the Willard at the cab depo and then finish the mission, but based on how repetitive the process is to get it, I wouldn't try my luck if I were you.

------------------------------------------

Rancher w/ Multiple Attachments

If you notice, at the end of Babysitting, a few of Kim's workers are loading crates into a Rancher which has both a grill-guard and an extra set of lights in the bed of the truck. Other than this Rancher, they will all either have one attachment or the other; never both. It's easy to obtain, as well; go back down the stairs after completing the mission and get into the Rancher. It won't be locked, and it's fairly easy to drive back up the stairs.

(I have been told, however, that it dissapears after the mission ends on the PlayStation 3 version, making it completely impossible to obtain if you own a PlayStation 3)

Unique/Mission Specific Vehicles

Roman's Wedding Car

This car can be found in the Mr and Mrs Bellic mission. When Roman calls you and tells you that you have to meet him at the church, go there. Then stop away from the Church and snipe one of your friends who are at the wedding (example, Brucie.) The mission will then fail and say that they were scared off. Now run over to the cars next to the church and go to the Cognoscenti. You will notice it has a white ribbon along the front of it. This is Romans wedding car. Take it to a safe house and enjoy!

A unique metallic blue PMP 600 can also be found just in front of the wedding car on certain occasions. Snatch that too and then redo the mission and repeat the steps to grab the wedding car as well.

Green Black Russian Mafia Schafter

In the last mission, A Revengers Tradegy , there is a large amount of both Pegorino and Russian mobsters shooting at you outside of the casino. DO NOT blow up any of the cars they are hiding behind. Some of the cars they are covering behind are the Mafia Schafter. If it is filled with bullets, don't respray it as it loses its colour. Just save it and after completing the game, you can use a cheat to repair. Thats if you don't wan to use any cheats during the game. If you do, repair it there and then and drive away and save it. This car can also come in Metallic Blue.

Unfortunately I do not have the ability to take screenshots so I can't show you any of these cars, but if anyone can get a shot of one from this guide then post it here, that would be great.

Metallic Grey Russian Mafia Rebla

The same as the Schafter, kill all the mobsters and make sure not to damage the car too much. It should be near the black Schafter at the back of the group of cars. As last time, once acquired it shouldn't be resprayed, or it will lose it's unique silver colour. It should avoid most of the bullets as it is at the back. EDIT: Actually, the Rebla can come in different colours, like a metallic black/red.

Playboy X's Metallic Blue Cavalcade

This vehicle can be found in the Deconstruction for Beginners mission. Once you have met up with Playoby he will direct you to a car in an alley way just off the construction site you are to attack. In the car are some weapons. It is this car that has the unique blueish/purple paintjob that won't be found anywhere else. So when you reach the alley, enter the car and watch the cutscene. Afterwards, drive the car to any one of your safehouse car save spaces and then kill yourself. This will fail the mission but keep the car. There you go, rare car number 1!

Dimitri's White and Yellow Maverick

This chopper can be acquirewd in the mission a Revengers Tragedy. Once you chase Dimitri from the casino, he escapes via a chopper on the roof. Niko grabs onto the bottom but is kicked off by a Russian Thug. So follow Dimitri in the boat and then grab Little Jacobs chopper. When you crash on Happiness Island, Dimtri's chopper is flaming. Kill his men and then go after the chopper. It is on fire and won't take off. But if you use the health cheat you can heal it and take off, earning a unique chopper.

Undertaker Mission Romero Hearse

This car can be found on the mission Undertaker, where you have to drive Francis or Derricks body to the cemetary while being shot at by Albanian douchebags. So, when you lose the Albanians and reach the cemetary, watch the cutscene and then when you are returned to the game the Romero starts to pull away. Now you have to move quickly either sprint after it or jack a car and drive after it, but do it fast. Pull up infront of it or jack the guy and steal. Then just save it and it is yours.

Gracie Ancelotti's Pink Convertiable Feltzer

Do the mission I'll Take her, and get the contact info for Gracies car, a pink Feltzer. Drive her along on the pretense that it is a test drive, and then reveal that it is a kidnapping. The bitch goes crazy and Niko is forced to knock her out. After the mission one of Packie's men pulls away in the Feltzer. Either run after him (but the car is fast) or headshot him there and then and grab the car.

Police Stockade

*Two of these barricade the streets after you escape the bank.
The problem is they are unjackable entirely. Even if you fail the mission,
they will be unjackable. The only alternative is to push them to a
parking spot afterwards. The problem? You keep that 5-star wanted level
after failing the mission, so you'd have to push it with 5 stars. It's
technically doable (hence why it's in this section), but don't count on
succeeding. Just grab the next one available. The major kicker is, you
can't escape the 5-star level first, otherwise the trucks will vanish
when you return to push it back.

Once in the Police Stockade and cleared of your wanted level,
drive to a parking spot and blow it up using a grenade (a rocket may
blow it off the spot). You can also shoot the engine until it explodes
(this is the safest option). Quickly run inside and save the game, and
it should still be there. Parking spots tend to eat destroyed cars, so
time is of the essence.

Sentinel STD

This variation of the Sentinel can be easily found in the Leftwood and Westdyke regions of Alderney. These modded Sentinels are driven by the Pegorino Crime familt and are a metallic green colour. It also has a body kit with air scoops and a rear spoiler. It is a quite highly sought after car, but isn't very hard to find if you go to the said location.

Custom Paintjobs

Metallic Purple Moonbeam

This rare vehicle can only be found in one place as far as I know. I think you have to have completed Stevie's car thefts but I am not sure. Head over to Charge Island and drive to its North Eastern corner were there is a curving road. Follow the road south until you reach a car park next to an area full of tanks. In this car park the Purple Streamline Moonbeam spawns. The spawn pint is the same one as the one you steal for Stevie, so Enjoy!

Bernie's Orange and Black Stripe Infernus

This Infernus can be found after the Mission Buoys Ahoy, when you chase after Dimtri's men in the boat. After this mission Bernie calls and says he wants to leave you a car as a presnet from Bryce. This car is the unique Infernus. It comes with a unique Orange paintjob and a black stripe along the bottom.

Lustered Grey and w/Black Stripe Banshee

This is a Banshee with a gray color and a black center
stripe. This comes in both hard top and convertable varities (randomly
chosen). Lusters on this car tend to be very difficult to see, even
moreso than lusters normally are. Best light seems to be around noon on
a sunny day. Niko automatically jacks this vehicle after the cutscene at
the first destination. Simply drive it to a parking spot when you are
supposed to meet Ray at the bridge - no mission failure necessary. Just
make sure to reach that point with it intact.

McReary Family Green Black Modded Oracle

This car can be found in the Steinway area and Dukes and is driven by the Irish Mob. It is easily distinguished by its paintjob and it's sports grill that has no badge at all. The grill consists of thick bars of metal and and apart from that it is pretty much the same. Pick up a regular Oracle and finding one of these should become much easier. A shoutout to the great work going on at the GTAIV Modded Vehicle Archive for already covering this ground with efficency and quality. Should you need info on modded cars, just go there.

Spanish Lords Red and Gold Modded Cavalcade

This car is actually quite common but is a modded vehicle so I guess I will include it here. This car is driven by the Spanish Lords gang and can be found all throughout Bohan, Holland, Northwood and Alderney City, and is most commonly found outside your Alderney safehouse. As they are quite widespread they can easily be encountered. The car itself is a red Cavalcade with gold rims, grill, side skirts and trim. It also has a large sound system with huge speakers in the back, viewable through the rear windows. It also has tinted windows.

Red/Black Italian Mafia PMP 600

Can be found in Westdyke and Leftwood along with Little Italy in Algonquin, this car is a reflective red and black variant of the regular PMP 600 and this one has a mini spoiler on the back and tinted windows. It also has a different grill, with it slightly extended and with little mini grills just below it. One of my personal favourites.

Sports/Luxury Vehicles

Once the preserve of th rich and famous, now I'll show you how to get them.

Infernus

By far the hardest car to get in the game (excluding unqiue ones) it's rarity is almost infamous. If seen, people will scramble and forget whatever they are doing just to get it. Even in my 160+ GTA gaming hours, I have never ever seen this beast on the streets unless I was already driving one. Now you get one for Bernie when you and during Stevie's car missions, but in case you missed those you can easily get another by either spawning or stealing a Turismo or a Super GT and going into a race with Brucie and (Bohan near the stripclub is recommended) the car should appear in the contestants. Good luck! The Infernus can also appear with a bodykit, giving it a spoiler.

Sultan. This is the normal version, not the mafia's Intruder (which has
a spoiler).
---------
Manana
A black-bodied Manana with a white roof section.
---------
Moonbeam
This Moonbeam has a bright purple paintjob, making it stand out rather
well.
---------
NRG 900
An NRG 900 with a black and silver body.
---------
Patriot (CONFIRMED)
This Patriot is yellow, much like Playboy X's Patriot. The difference
is it has an American flag decal on the side, whereas Playboy X's has
none.
---------
PMP 600
A silver PMP 600 with a bit of a a light bluish tint to it.
---------
Rancher
A pick-up style Rancher, with a maroon top and bottom, and a big gray
strip along the side.
---------
Rebla (CONFIRMED)
This Rebla is a golden brown color.
---------
Sabre GT (CONFIRMED)
A green Sabre GT with a black stripe. No hood accessories are present.
---------
Sentinel (CONFIRMED)
A gray-blue colored Sentinel with black rims.
---------
Sultan (CONFIRMED)
This Sultan is a deep, rich blue color, much like the tuner version,
except it is the normal one. The color is very similar, if not the same,
as the previously listed Intruder.
---------
SuperGT
A plain, flat black SuperGT.
---------
Turismo (CONFIRMED)
This Turismo is gold-colored like the previously mentioned Dilletante.
---------
Voodoo (CONMFIRMED)
A solid green Voodoo.

The rest of Stevie's Cars are NOT UNIQUE! These are the Washington, Bobcat and Faggio.

Brucie's Exotic Exports

All of Brucie's cars are unique. Once again all credit goes to Lancet Jades' guide for all this quoted info. I DI NOT WRITE THIS PART OF THE ARTICLE AND PLEASE ASK HIS PERMISSION IF YOU WANT TO COPY INFORMATION.

Banshee
This Banshee is blue-colored with a white stripe. It can be either a
convertible or a hard top. The blue color of this car is much grayer
(close to periwinkle) than the normal blue colors found on Banshees in
traffic.
---------
Cavalcade
This Cavalcade sports a solid, bright red coloring, along with black
rims like in Deconstruction for Beginners.
---------
Feltzer
A cream-colored Feltzer. Like most features on Brucie's exports, whether
it is a hard top or convertible is random. The cream color of this car
is slightly off from other varities of this color for Feltzer. Another
iffy one, but still unique.
---------
Intruder
This Intruder is a rich gray color, with a very dark gray stripe along
the bottom of the sides. There's no normally available gray color that
matches this gray. Like the Feltzer, this is rather iffy.
---------
NRG 900
This NRG 900 is a mixture of a solid red, with a large black segment
along the middle. This is unique in that the red coloring is much
brighter than the normal darker red used on red NRG 900s.
---------
Patriot
This is a gray Patriot, although the gray has a bluish tint to it not
found on random Patriots in traffic, or from the PnS. Features seem
random, including the flag emblem on the side. Very iffy as to its
unqiueness, but the bluish tint to the gray is what does it.
---------
PCJ 600
This PCJ 600 is a mixture of gray and black. Very similar to the normal
gray/black PCJ 600, except the normal one has gray lining around the
engine block, and a gray line on the tires, while this one doesn't.
---------
PMP 600
A normal PMP 600 with a deep crimson color. It has a normal grill, not
the Mafia or hybrid version. The color of this car is much darker than
either the red PMP 600 found in traffic, or Dwayne's deep red PMP 600.
---------
Sabre GT
A red Sabre GT with a big white stripe in the middle and no hood scoop.
It resembles the Sabre Turbo from Vice City. The red coloring is brighter
than other similarly-colored Sabre GTs. It can have either a flat hood,
or a pentagon-shaped section raised. It never has air intakes that I've
seen.
---------
Sanchez
A red sanchez with a red fuel tank, instead of silver like usual. It
also has a red light guard instead of a gray one. Lastly, the shocks
on the front wheel are red, not gray, like the usual one.

Unobtainables

The elusive unobtainable vehicles, those cars, bikes, boats and choppers you wish you could get, but just can't.

Babysitting Full Black Maverick

This Maverick is by far the hardest to acquire and I doubt anyone will ever manage to get it, but if you do, a thousand cookies to you and a unbelievably unique vehicl that you truly earned. The way you should have been able to get this all black chopper would have been to capsize Derricks boat, spawn an Annihaltor so you can follow the chopper as it leaves so that it oesn't dissappear, wait for it to stop flynig around the entre of Algonguin just outside Grand Easton Terminal, get out and snipe the pilot in such a way that the chopper crash but it's rotors don't snap. Unfortunately, they always snap, or the AI crashs the chopper or various other reasons make this vehcile just about unobtainable.

Rareness out of 10: 10
Difficulty to Acquire out of 10: 11!

Meh it's alright I guess. I prefer Wightboy's thread or the Special Vehicles guide from Lancet Jade at Gamefaqs. I'm pretty sure that the "Sentinel STD" is supposed to be Sentinel XS. STD is on the spoiler says Sentinel Tuning Division. Look at the back of the car and you'll see the name Sentinel XS.

XS is the sports version, but it usually comes without the spoiler.

Some of those were new to me icon14.gif

In mission specific vehicles, you forgot the Pink Feltzer in 'I'll Take Her' and the Police Stockade in 'Tunnnel of death'.

Yup exactly.

So it goes like Sentinel (normal version without spoiler) and Sentinel XS (with the spoiler).

I'm still updating and I've been busy. I'll add those vehicles from a previous thread soon.

Ok, let's try to forget about that incident and move on. I updated the front page and got a banner courtesy of Ja750. I hope you like it.
