I added a bunch of MP3s into the User Tracks folder on both, the My Documents, and the one at Application Data....I get into the game and press Quick scan and Complete scan......I get into a car and tune the radio to Independence FM.......AND THERE IS NONE OF MY SONGS PLAYING!!!!!!!! WTF?!!!!!!!!

Can you please help if you know what the problem is.....thanks.

you pasted mp3's in that folder? you aren't supposed to put your actual mp3's, you're supposed to use "Paste Shortcut" instead.

Wrong, it doesn't matter if you put a shortcut to a folder or the actual files in there, but of course it's better to just put a shortcut in, so you don't have to move all the files.

Maybe its something to do with the codecs your mp3's are encoded with?

go to audio setting and on independence fm mode put in shuffle or something, anything except radio. if you leave radio, it plays commercials. (if you haven't done that already)

I didn't know this issue existed. I copied about 25 mp3's into the user music folder and scanned at the audio menu. The radio setting is nice because you get ads and a dj introducing your tracks.

i kinda have the same problem with this as well. but with a lil difference

my radio works of but when i try ot listen to the independence radio to my songs it screeches. o.O then eventually cuts out.

now its not the music. cuz i can play it on 3 different players ( windows media , itunes, and GOM - a video player) and it plays fine.
i tried the shotcuts instead of files same thing. i tried files instead of short cuts same thing. i tried re downloading the files same thing.

im out of ideas and help desk has no idea what im talking about

After placing the mp3s in the folder you need to adjust the audio settings in the game.

This is what I referring:

Under "Audio" adjust the Independence FM setting there are three to choose from:

Sequential
Shuffle
Radio

You may also want to preform a complete scan.

yea i did all that before i came here to post.
i tried all setting an all the stuff listed above.
nothing seems to help
and i didnt design the game but im pretty sure that if i just put the music in and didnt do the complete scan or change any setting im pretty sure the radio station ouldnt let out a high pitched schreech resembling the noise you hear when u put a cd ona record player, or scratch nails on a chalkboard. im pretty sure it would eithe just not play, just play commercials, do nothing, or work spite not dsoing any thing. but then again i havnt actually looked at the code and dotn know to much about write game codes any way but im pretty sure the screeching is related to something more than clicking complete scan. or weter you put the file or the files short cut in.

>.< i really just wanna listen to my music on the radio like i do in san andreas. the music works fine in san andreas i dont under stand y it wont in gta 4 -_-

has anybody had the screeching?

Just throwing out a Hail Mary, do your MP3s have really long file names?

My MP3s just refused to play ingame until I shortened the file names.
