I formatted my pc, installed all necessary xp updates, newest graphic driver, dot fx yada yada yada...

a week ago I had -AMD 64 processor 3400+ 2.21 GHz + 2GB ram + Ati Radeon HD 3650 Graphic Card 512 MB GDDR2.

it was running but very slow. but IT WAS RUNNING WITH NO CRASHES, NO BLACK SCREENS, NO ERROR CODES.

I mean IT WAS RUNNING with a SINGLE CORE PROCESSOR.

and now I changed my mobo + processor + power supply

this is my current system:

AMD Athlon x2 dual core +5000 2.6 GHz + 2gb ram and [!!!]same graphic card.

when i launch the game it crashes apprx. 30 seconds after "trademark, legal, copyright yada yada" intro... screen goes black, my monitor says "no signal", monitor switches off but PC keeps running with the GTA's intro music in the background (WTF??). keyboard is not functioning. only way out is resetting the PC.

I cannot find a n online solution

try the commandline.txt solution.

commandline.txt in gta 4 directory with -norestrictions -nomemrestrict -novblank in it? it doesn't help blush.gif

I guess it overheats and stops functioning.
I installed an old game called Act of War: Direct Action (strategy game), it did same stuff... Game crushes after intro.
Act of War reuqirements:

CPU: 1.5 GHz or better
RAM: 256 MB
Video: 64 MB video RAM ATI RADEON 8500 or superrior colgate.gif

Power supply:
Crossfire550w
