I preffer using SparkIV too, I dunno why, i just like it better. It feels more compact and OpenIV is like too big and it has a nice glossy look, yes, but its inpractible for me, SparkIV does what i want to do to my files better and quicker. Its lightweight

Spark IV crashes so much, even if it still is usable. When I look at sound files, if I want to hear something else or I close the window Spark IV has a chance of crashing. It's so annoying.

for the 1st time in my life, my gtx560 actually went off for a moment. i was editing bronx_e.img "hunts_p03_market.wdr" with the newest beta and then my screen went to weird colors and then driver crashed there you have something to fix now

I've been using the 0.7.0 beta that works with EFLC and one thing that amazes me is how through the ENTIRE release cycle a very annoying bug hasn't been fixed. That bug is the fact that it only remembers one folder location instead of two: one for the imported stuff and one for the opened img file. Also annoying but less priority is having to press the stupid logo so that it can index the entire freakin GTA folder and then finally let you click the Open File icon. AGH!

I can't open Audio files with Open IV, but I can with Spark. However, Open IV has drag and drop (doesn't work for me, though), and allows me to add more files to an RPF and an IMG. (VERY IMPORTANT FEATURE).

It can be added back to the program, I managed to get into contact with Aru a while back, and got more for his editor, which was still in Beta "Testing" or had not be released yet.


I will speak to Aru when I can, and I will start updating SparkIV

Why the big argument over the two? I alternate between both OpenIV and SparkIV and I think both programs are great. Is there a real need to bash the other? I have a feeling some of you guys who bash OpenIV never actually used it

Of course OpenIV, because OpenIV has openFormats support and has support of Max Payne 3.
