That machine was not made for gaming.

Is there anything I can do? because the over $300 of non-transferable games makes me not wanting to buy buy a new system.

You could get a better GPU, but your PC has a very weak power supply so you would probably have to get a new one of those as well.

I've got the same problem here but with a reasonably good graphic card , ATI 5730 which has got 1gb of DDR3 memory.

The game used to run before applying the patches & I even got an average of 30 FPS on benchmark test but it used to freeze intermittently! the FPS was dropped to 0 for 2-3 seconds & it only happened while driving a car.

but now after applying 1.0.7 patch and that xliveless thing I get texp70 error msg sad.gif
how could I get this thing working? whatsthat.gif
thx in advance

Look here http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=385146

If you were satisfied with the performance before, I suggest going back to patch 5.

Wow, been playing for months now SO I am Most positive I can run GTA IV 1.7 with my driver.

The problem is that on borderline specification one change can make or break the game for you. Be it drivers, OS or whatever. Try with older game versions/GPU drivers.

Like it has been said many times, Intel HD graphics doesn't meet GTAIV needs. You can try using older game versions, some of them may at least start the game.

I'm having the same problem.
The going back a few patches not really able to do that seeing as i bought it through steam meaning it auto updates.

My specs:
Intel® Pentium® CPU P6100 @ 2.00GHz
3.00 GB ram
Intel® HD Graphics
1271 MB total Available graphics memory
Windows 7 but using compatibility mode windows vista SP2 because of another error.
Sony VAIO
the processor is a duel core.

I know quite a few people have said Intel® HD Graphics but i have tried Many games such as MW2 and they all work with just a little lag from the processor and a hear and there crash from the Graphics. I also tried fallout 3 it would work but seeing as my graphics card is built in and not a deticated one fallout wont run unless i get a patch or mod to bypass their system that searches for certain types of cards. In other words the graphics card its self isn't good enough but with the extra graphics memory it becomes good enough to play somewhat modern games. EX: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Tropic 4, Shogun 2 total war, Wargame: European Escalation and Red orcestra 2.
