I make sure these following steps absolutely help you guys play the game without this error!! 1 - Install GTA IV + Rockstar Game Social Club as usual 2 - (Optional) Crack + Patch as usual 3 - (Important!!) Uninstall Games for Windows LIVE (in Control Panel) to remove xlive.dll in System32 4- (Essential!!) Download Microsft NET Framework 3.5 on Microsoft.com | CODE | | http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/confirmation.aspx?FamilyID=333325FD-AE52-4E35-B531-508D977D32A6 |
5 - (Essential!!) Download Games for Windows LIVE latest version on Microsoft.com or here to update the latest xlive.dll in System32 | CODE | | http://www.mediafire.com/?zyyzqtm2zyy |

Putting this here in case anyone is still having the problem with Windows Live Installations.
Be sure when you install the wllogin_32.msi (I think that's the live ID assistant) your background intelligent transfer service, your software licensing service, and your windows update services are all started, you can turn them off after you have a successful install.
You may notice the Windows Live service in your services now if you were missing it before.
Putting this string in here for searches, since it's the msg I was getting after reinstalling live after the WS10 "windows live ID sign-in assistant setup wizard ended prematurely" and it ran properly when i turned those services on.
Update: Great... even though I could reinstall GFWL without the "prematurely" message anymore, Im getting the WS10 error again. Not going to buy Max Payne because of this, this is happening to alot of people

when strarting up the game at start screen there is a black box then a white fatal error ws10 box pops up i went to add/remove programs and deleted the "games for windows live" icon but i dont know how or where to go to reinstall it my system is window 7 and the game is bought at retail please help!!! im not particularly computer savy
