Fatal error ws10 often comes if you tried to apply razor 1911 Crack(File will also have a virus did you check?) and/or you tried to remove the rockstar's modding protection by applying a modding patch.

P.S.
The last thing is you cant remove this error. Just reinstall windows use original exe file.

i also had this problem

after i installed patch 2 it worked for me.

and if it doesn't work for you just copy all files with xlive... in "C:/WINDOWS/system32" to your game directory. it really works...

Where do you get patch 2?

That was 3 years ago. Now Patch #7 is the latest version released.

Hope this helps people solve the dreaded WS10 error.

Troubleshooting: GTA IV WS10 Error Fix

I spent hours trying to fix this problem. After much research and experimentation I finally got GTA IV running.

Here is my suggestions:
- Update to the newest NVIDIA (180.84)/ATI (8.12) driver
- Update to the most recent drivers for your motherboard chipset
- Update to Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1
- Restart your computer

If it still doesn't work try the following:
- Reinstall GTA IV

That worked for me, if you aren't so lucky I suggest you trade your copy of GTA IV for a firebomb and book a flight to Rockstar.  devil.gif

I just got this game and i can't update anything cuz i don't have an internet connection (thanks to the ship) is there a fix that doesn't require downloading anything?

I'm assuming you have a retail game version. Is GFWL redistributable provided on the game disk? If yes, uninstall GFWL and reinstall it.
Alternately, the minimum download that could fix this problem is xliveless.

Don't install any drivers, WS10 error should relate to a bad GFWL installation.

Have you tried reinstalling this GFWL update? Firstly completely uninstall current GFWL installation from control panel > program and features.

Try using memrestrict, sometimes the memory leak problem can be severe.

That was a while back, now Patch #7 is released. Just download and open TitleUpdate.msi.

I have the Patch 7 but when I go to open the titleupdate.msi it states that it failed and ended prematurely because of an error. It then says my system has not been modified? Anyone know what I should do?

It allowed for full install of the game but just keeps givin me the fatal error ws10 bull.

Windows 7 SP1
64-bit OS

Not very comp savy so the more ya dumb it down the better lol

Thanks in advance

You can use this patch archive that was create by me http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?on51nqo8i6xxanx

Place it in the game installation folder and run it there. It will extract and overwrite old files with updated ones.

It's present only if you have xliveless installed.
The original xlive.dll belonging to GFWL should be located somewhere in the system32 folder.
