Well as the hype mule (I would say train but it really doesn't feel like a train) starts I came across this from 1up. They have apparently had a bit of a quickie on GTA 4 mp for the PC :-
Nothing earth shatteringly new, obviously mentioned that it has 32 players instead of 16. They also seem to be of the opinion that the mouse and keyboard improves MP (well what a shock eh boys and girls). All in all an interesting read if you are board and want some more information. There is also eight new screenshots there, well I haven't seen them :-
thanks for that. it indeeds adds nothing new but it's nice to see there might be an even more packed matches. not that it seems like GTA IV on the consoles was a bore but i like the adition.
maybe if there are so many players on board than the blips can be dropped and we can still always find someone to cap.
i wonder if it is possible to play 4v4v4v4v4v4v4v4 or 6v6v6v6v6v2 (2 are the admins o the server ) I am not kidding, this would be great for a RP server where u can create gangs :>

Yay this makes me happy. "Even before jumping in, we noticed that the developers added a custom match browser, where you can search for an online session that fulfills specific criteria (gameplay mode, number of players, and so forth)."
Sad thing about this is that "WE" (family/friends) are buying GTA IV to PLAY TOGETHER ONLINE and NOT with some random person... I HOPE there is some type of "password" or some way we can play together online... NOT, NOT like Left 4 Dead crap...
Yeah im really interested in some info on the server part as im definitely going to host a server. Anyone here found some info or a review on the server part?
Dedicated servers ??? What the hell, Why aint nobody mentioning this yet. Its the most important part.
You sir, is right. I think there will be NONE! . Games For Windows Live host their own servers. That means, we'll have to reverse-engineer the whole thing and host our own Live-Servers with a bit of client-cracking in order to host our own worlds. Let's leave that up to MTA:IV's team.
