Nothing much happens in this forum, it won't be hard setting up a tournament later. I dont think you understand that the point system goes with every event. and at the end of the olympics the gang with the most points wins

I understand that, hell a 2 year old understands that. I dont think you understand that its a knockout torny, in which points would be stupid because you either win and stay in another round, or you lose ( maybe have another game ) and get kicked out of the torny. Its like last man standing, compared to most points win.

2nd gets 20
3rd gets 15
4th gets 0
5th gets 0

If there are 10 gangs, those who are placed from 4th to 10th get 0 points, right? Does that even make sense? What's the point in having points then if only the first three are going to get them? You might as well just keep it to ranks rather than points.

I think I see what you mean, If your first in one match, you get 30 points, but last in another, you get 0, so the person who has the most points after everything finishes wins?

Can't we just say whoever wins the most is the winner and if there is a draw, they take each other on in a tiebreaker? Much easier.

Exactly. If they aren't getting any points, what the use of having points in the first place? Why not just keep it to ranks? Or maybe medals, just like in the Olympics? Gold, Silver and Bronze for the first three and only subsequent ranks for the rest.

I blame a noticeable lack of Em's awesome ego. Maybe you shouldn't have been so quick to try and shoo him from the last topic.

On a serious note, I'm sorry that you had an idea that didn't take off, only to have someone basically poach the (completely unoriginal) idea and have it be more successful. I mean there's no reason there can't be more than one tourney, but you can't make people sign up for this one, just like you can't make this tournament more official than someone else's "official" tournament. Really, unless and until you get someone to actually sign up to play in it, most of this discussion is moot.

That said, it's still good to see people trying to encourage activity and interest, even if it doesn't work.

Koik, this is getting childish. Please stop fighting over who's to run a tournament. I honestly don't mind who runs the tournament, but you've got admit, the other one is better organised. Yours lacked some fervour, that's all.
