I watched Captain America today. I have no desire to see it again. Movie became pretty unfocused once Steve became Cap, with mini-montages of Cap and soldiers fighting, leading to a mini-montage of cap on a motorcycle, leading to a quick moment of Red Skull being pissed. And this continues until the film comes to a close. In between are moments of Cap's cute love interest and Tommy Lee Jones grimacing.

The movie just didn't make full use of its 2 hour running time. I was really underwhelmed by the action, and there was no big action scene or standout moment to be thrilled by. Just hydyra soldiers getting blasted with Cap's shield, while sh*t blew up. And I didn't have the nostalgia running through my veins that a lot of other, older viewers have had to amplify what was on screen. And Bucky, well, I just didn't care. They did a weak job of making me care.

The story plopped along for an hour and change until Cap meets Red Skull for an anti-climactic showdown which is becoming the norm for Marvel films. Iron Man 2, Thor (though this was the best of out this list), and now Cap.

Best part of the whole experience was seeing the full-on Avengers trailer after the credits. Joss Whedon has a lot on his shoulders.

So now that the Marvel machine is almost finished with this cycle, this is how I feel:

Iron Man
Thor (could be interchangeable with 1st place)
The Incredible Hulk
Iron Man 2
Captain America

I liked it. I would have preferred that Bucky lived and married Peggy when Cap was frozen. Like in the Ultimates. But I do agree it's really smashed in there. It felt like a big set up for the Avengers, and I think it would have been better suited as a couple movies before the Avengers movie, like they did with Iron Man.

I really want to go back and read the Ultimates now.

And I'd put Captain America above Iron Man 2 and The Incredible Hulk. I like all of the movies though. I really don't own a one of them.

All of the movies are good...altough i haven't seen the Cpt A. yet. I am a big Hulk fan, but i enjoyed the first (2003) movie more. Had more depth. But the 2008 one was allright too. Iron man....now that was something, i'm really looking forward to the third part and also Avengers. Downy jr. did an amazing job as T. Stark. I really want to be somebody like him in the future. biggrin.gif

E: Oh yeah.... I AM IRON MAN!!!

You've seen the teaser, now why don't have the first full trailer?...

I think Hollywood has finally understood the 'Joss Whedon Complex'. I.e. Joss Whedon plus any Science Fiction or Comic-Book concept equals sucess and admiration.

Yeah, 1:19-1:34 was pure undistilled awesomeness.

After that I'm almost looking forward to the Avengers more than the Dark Night Rises. It's close.

The hype, most likely going to buy the Blu-Ray version as well as watching it on the big screen in 3D

Well that had a God awful song attached to it. What is this, a Vin Diesel movie?

Other than that, all I cared about was seeing Hulk. Still think ScarJo is totally unnecessary eye candy. But whatever, can't have it be a total sausage fest.

Blasphemy! Repent!

Seriously, she is so so so hot. I wouldn't mind if she gave me some of that Black Widow beating.

What do you mean she's unnecessary? She's Black Widow. She's an Avenger. I suppose you think Thor is just eye candy as well.

So's Ant-Man and Wasp. We didn't need them either.

And Thor has gotten a more fabulous hair makeover. FABIO...

So's Ant-Man and Wasp. We didn't need them either. There have been SO many Marvel characters in the Avengers' ranks. Granted, Ant-Man and Wasp were founding members. Isn't there supposed to be a Simon Pegg-starring film about Ant Man?

Edgar Wright has been linked with an Ant Man film for ages. He's even dropped a few hints on Twitter that suggest he's doing it but there's never been anything concrete as far as I know.

Awesome trailer! My friend actually just asked me where's Spiderman.

Kinda pissed that the other two founders, Wasp and AntMan, isnt in. But I'm sure they'll get a cameo or at least a mention.

I do wish Wasp was in it. I liked how her and Cap had a relationship in the Ultimates, and he kicked the sh*t out of Antman (known as Giantman at the time) because he smacked Wasp around.

I'm kind of looking forward to this knowing all the mediocre spin offs were made prior to this collective effort.

Tell me you didn't laugh seeing ScarJo pop in a fresh clip. A GUN. Seriously? Aliens are attacking, you got the Thunder God and a gamma-irradiated behemoth beside you, and you think a pistol has a place in the fray?

Don't bring a gun to a superhero fight.

And let's just ignore the bow and arrow. At least Cap's shield can deflect sh*t and he has super strength.
