News: Confirmed PC System Requirements

They are as follows:

Minimum System Requirements Windows Vista - Service Pack 1 / XP - Service Pack 3 1.8GHz Intel Core2Duo or 2.4GHz AMD Athlon X2 64 1 GB of RAM (Windows XP) or 1.5 GB of RAM (Windows Vista) 16 GB free hard drive space 256MB NVIDIA 7900 / 256MB ATI X1900

Recommended System Requirements Windows Vista - Service Pack 1 / XP - Service Pack 3 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Quad or 2.1GHz AMD Phenom X3 2.5 GB of RAM (Windows XP) or 2.5 GB of RAM (Windows Vista) 18 GB Free Hard Drive Space 512MB NVIDIA 8600 / 512MB ATI 3870

LOL @ quad as recommended, I am sure a fast dual core like the Core 2 duo @ 3.0 will be fine, especially at higher res.

Well, Alone in the Dark 5 also required dual core, but I was able to run it at max. I just changed priority to high.

In fairness, any sensible Pc gamer playing modern games is nutz to be playing games on anything other then Dual core, games for a long time run way better on Dual, and Single core is poor. Move with the imes, Dual core has been out for ages, and many games won't run or barely run on Single core now, it is time to ditch the Dinosaur, lol. If we are afraid to move ahead progress would never get made.

AMD Athlon 3500+ 1GB
I'm able to run Far Cry 2 on high too, after changing priority to high.

I'm thinking about buying either a quad or dual core im not sure what though. Any help?

how can they put quad cpu as recomended!?!???
if minimum is 1.8 c2d, for recomended sys req they sould have put 2.6c2d and not 2.4 quad!!

if you wanna buy a c2d or a quad you should buy a new PC because not many motherboards that can handle single core cpu can handle c2d or especially quad....

No Game had ever a Quad Core as recommended even Crysis Warhead had a fast Dual Core CPU as recommended i really don´t know what this sh*t is

And the Graphic Card. They put a NVidia 8600 in the same line as a ATI 3870 as recommended. The 3870 killes the 8600 in any way by far.

Rockstar really know how to piss off the PC Gamers. I guess the Game will run as bad as Bully.

My PC is 2 years old, only my graphic card is upgraded.

Then you should have done mroe reaearch, buying a Pc 2 years ago and getting a Single core was a bad choice is you wanted to game on it, single core was on its way out back then.
