ok i got this skin selector from a japanses website but when i installed it, and pressed tab+next weapon(switches skins) my game just crashed. and i even had a skin installed in the skin.img file. but if i install skins in my gta3.img file the game does not freeze and the skins i installed in skins.img show up in game but sometimes when i switch them, theres a white character that shows up. can someone please help me cuz i think i installed it wrong. i found a different way to do it but it can only use like 6 skins but i want alot more.

If I understand right, so this mod works for you (you can change the skin to a model of skin.img)
Then you added a new model but it appears in white.
A model in white is caused by a problem with the textur
- maybe the dff belongs to a texturname of the txd which is not correct
- the txd have a failure
- because you didn't run the function "Rebuild Archiv"

well, my game definitely crashes when i use this mod. i add the right line to gta.dat (IMG CLEO\SKIN.IMG), i add the skin.cs and the skin.img and my game crashes to windows right after the loading screen. i have no idea what i'm doing wrong. i even tried removin all the other cleo scripts i have installed to see if it makes it work, but it still crashes. the only way i can play the game is if i remove the mod files and remove the line from gta.dat. what's strangest of all is that the old skin selector mod without the menu (remember that one?) worked fine, although sometimes the game would freeze while changin skins. but i lost that old script and i've looked all over google tryin to find it, but that crazy ryosuke removed it from his page. i even emailed him about the problem and he didn't answer!

this happens when filepaths are wrong or files not exist
you added skin.img in cleo folder?
are there additional entries for loading an IMG in your gta.dat?
you can only load 2 additional mod IMGs

yeah the skin.img is in the cleo folder. additonal entries? well i have your neon.img listed as part of the pimpmycar mod, and i have the gx.img which is your girl xxx mod. i also tried a gta.dat that only had skin.img listed after the main 3 IMG's that game needs to run. perhaps the script points to an invalid file. but theres this strange glitch in all of ryosuke's mods that if you recompile them (like say, if i want different controls for master spark) that causes them to crash the game. i didnt do that in this script though. there was once an older version that when id press tab + next weapon it would go to the next skin without a menu, and tab + prev. weapon would go back to cj. but i cant find that one. and the 1 gave is the same one i been findin everywhere else that crashes. i dont get it, other cleo mods work but not this one.

yeah i tried it. the crash went away when i removed 1 of the IMG lines in gta.dat . of course i had to get rid of the neon.img and add files to gta.img

why don't use the gta.dat in skin files
if you add and remove lines in your gta.dat make shure to don't forget any line like IDE data\maps\generic\neon.ide

heres my problem, help me if you can.
I put skin_o.cs, Skin_C.cs and skin_n.cs in Cleo Folder, also the Skin img.
then i replace the gta.dat with the one that comes with the download,
i start the game and when i hold shift and scroll to open the skin menu
the game freezes.

help?
am i doing something wrong?

Answer on your question: No.

Sometimes ryosukes scripts work perfectly, try again later and they scrwe up my game
if CLEO is installed, and the instalation is correct, there shouldn't be any problems ( in-theory, 'cause Ryosukes scripts are strange, just as I said: I installed a mod and I tested it two or three times and it always freezed/crashed my game. Then, couple of hours later I tried again and it worked without any changes of the game/scripts)

keep trying it and uninstall CLEO, remove all your scripts and then reinstall everything

I've got a problem too!!! When I press tab+switch weapon,tab+q+switch weapon,tal+e+switch weapon nothing happens and I put the files in cleo folder , And I added the lines in my GTA.dat

As i pointed out in my previous post it can happen that Ryosukes scripts work but sometimes they messmup the game
make sure you installed everything correctly and post again

Now I also get why this guy couldn't make it work properly:

Hey guys, hope someone reads this and has a solution. I'm just trying to find out if this is a common error and if there's a fix.

I have the skin selector working perfectly fine, I just have one bug.

When I first load a game, I get the message that cleo is working fine, good.
Then, I press the keys to open the selector, and first it'll change a skin or two, and THEN the menu will show up and I can go through them.

The problem is, I can only use the menu once. If I try to open the menu after I change my skin, my game crashes. I can change skins without the menu fine, but I want to be able to use the menu whenever I want so I can spawn some termies.

I'm 99.999999r% sure that I have all the files in their correct locations and that everything is installed/setup properly.


My only option is to wait until I get outside to use the menu to spawn some characters. But I should be able to open the menu whenever without a crash right?




*EDIT*

WOW, I figured it out...

It's because I had to re-define my middle mouse button or numlock button, because I'm on a mac... stupid..
