Nah, it's two years till diablo 3 comes out, there will be at least one more World of Warcraft expansion in that time, not including the one that's coming out this year. There's still life in the old dog yet.

WoW is never going to die, unless Blizzard brings servers down. I bet there's plenty of folk who didn't enjoy Diablos but do enjoy WoW.

That said, I've been bored of WoW around twice every year, which means taking a 2-4 months break and then returning. I guess it could be the same for many others.

I doubt it will be 2 years away, I reckon we'd be looking at late 09 knowing Blizzard. Really they've been working on D3 since 05 and they've said most of the time now will be spent on fleshing the game out.

WoW is kind of Warcraft 4. It continues the story you ended up in Warcraft 3 & Frozen Throne. The lore is a major part of playing WoW for me. Nothing like taking Illidan the Coward down by you and your pals!!

I hope they make a new RTS game on Warcraft universe, though. Starcraft has never blown me away.

Actually one of the arteorks dated March 2004, but my guess they started the project even earlier. Can’t wait to get that game, hope my PC will be able to hadle it. I doubt anyone will go back to D2 afte this one.

Is it possible to play WoW in single player mode without going online? Because I hate playing warcraft online with people who spend eternity leveling up their character. I really need a good warcraft kinda now, without online

Nah, playing WoW offline isn't possible. It's an MMORPG that you have to pay for to be able to play.

However if you enjoyed Warcraft 3 & Frozen Throne story/lore, then you should be able to find some videos about that from warcraftmovies.com

Seeing that Blizzard now works on Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3, the chances of a new RTS Warcraft are veeeeery slim.

Pardo says that a port of game in console is theoretically possible, but Lead Designer says that they don't have any plans for Console or any other Platform.

and all we know is that the game is going to be released after StarCraft 2.
