YOUR own save games are saved in a user/player Document File. You would have to delete it yourself it won't be deleted by uninstalling the game.
Do a Windows Search for files named *.b (Star Dot B)

The save worked for me.
I used the V2 script files.
If you have V2 then you should be able to use it.
If you have V1 you still can usr it if you replace your V1 script files with V2.

having problems using these save games after a fresh install with no mods or cd patches
i have a second edition dvd, i found an unpatcher to v1.

did not have any saved games before unpatching, do i download v1 or v2 save games?

V2. If that Is what the installation Disc says. The game is always the Original as Issued when installed. Patching and 'downgrading' do not affect the original setup.

I've read through this whole post and I'm guessing since GTA San Andreas was just released for the mac in the app store that none of these saved games will help me with my problem. I've followed everything and downloaded the version one and slot two for my game and put the file into the places where I was told. When I load the game it doesn't appear at all. I see everything you guys are saying about the file extensions .exe, .dll, .ini, etc. but the ".b" saved game file doesn't work in my data folder when I load the game. So I guess i'll keep trying at the game until I pass this mission.

Are you sure you've put it in the right place? If you're on XP, it should be here: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files. If it still doesn't work, try requesting a Save N' Play and somebody will help you pass the mission, by uploading your save here. Be sure to check the Mission Help Rules & F.A.Q. topic.

What tool are you talking about?
If you mean the save files, you have to find out the version of your game. V1 or V2. Then, go to the first post of this topic, download the save file for your game (V1 or V2) and, if you're on Windows XP, go here and place your save: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files.

It means that the archive file is broken. Did you download it fully?
