I got GTAIV on PC. really better than the PS3 version, loving it. I didn't have any really bad problemt apart of the shadows thing, gotta update my drivers and check back. Framerate is ok.

I'm getting a good frame rate, however, the game is terribly programmed, resulting in crap shadows and texture corruption.

Check out the Gen PC chat right now. Rockstar Toronto left like 862 bugs unfixed in a final, gold release.
It's pretty disappointing and I hope they fix it as soon as possible, so when I get my copy, around Christmas, I won't have to worry about all of the problems.

edit: Nice pics, Jost. I bet you played it on 800x600. No?
Judging by the size of the images, he played it on 1280x960 for a while and decided to reduce it to 1152x864 later on.
@Jost_Vice: Nice screen shots, looking good. What's your native resolution?

Didn't change my res, you can see that in some pics I changed the ref for some framerate settings, but they don't affect at all. I think I could be playing at 1280x960, but right now its saved at 1152x864. I play with framerate drops from 20fps to 60, depend of the draw distance and shadows mostly

Sounds good. What are your PC's specs, and what settings are you running on? I'm just trying to get an idea of what I'll be dealing with around Christmas.

@Jost: those pics are awesome, IV on PC almost looks better than IV on consoles but you must have a bad ass computer to run it that good and get like 53 fps.
the meet was Alright. Namex and Kimd41 showed on, and Koik played some freeroam with us (then she disconnected from PSN)
We played freeroam, some DM and races, then we did some missions. I got pwned hard on the DM thanks to koik distracting me on MSN with some stuff But I won the race (4x4 race) we all won monies on the mission and end.
Lega disconnected just before the meet (weird..), kabel didn't show up...
Sorry guys. Fell asleep at 8Pm and when I got up the meet was over. Worked from 1Pm to 7Pm, lifting stuff for all the old women in the storage place. Didn't even finish my dinner.

ViceHog: 8800GT and quadcore at 2,4, under these new nvidia beta drivers and 3gb ram. The frames jump from 20 to 40, depend of a lot of things, like shadows... sometimes its highter, usually its 30.
Kabel: Its alright, we didn't need you Just try to be at the next one

Hey guys, just came back from Manhatten and I've got a lot of pics that I took from my Blackberry phone. I don't know if it's sh*t quality, but I'll post em' up tomorrow as it's pretty late here. I got some great shots at the Rockafella Center and a beautiful view of the island itself, Manhatten. Some pics that I took resemble some places from IV such as the Getalife building (Metlife), Rotterdam Tower (Empire State Building) and a few others.

Well I am glad everyone is doing good because I just got RROD today and I will not be able to play Xbox with any of you for probably like 2 months. After about 3 years of my Xbox working perfectly I finally get sh*t on by Microsoft. I should be receiving the box they send in the mail in a few days and hopefully I get my Xbox back quick.

It took me 21 days to get mine which was about three weeks. And it's funny cause I got RROD on December of last year. Have you tried the towel trick? It helps if you want to get gaming for three days. Oh and you will get a free month sent to you which is pretty kind of Microsoft.
Yeah, I've had RROD about 3/4 times but I've only sent it to Microsoft once. I only sent it the first time. Every time I've had it since, it's started working perfectly the next day. It took me 2 weeks altogether (contacting Microsoft, getting packaging, waiting for UPS to pick it up, by time it gets to where it gets fixed, and then delivered to me again). I was given a free month too.
