Good job on the starter save for GTA 3, it would be very useful, and might get more people to play it since all that basically has to be done are the story missions. This should be pinned, so it won't fall to the last page as people add new topics to this section.

And on the idea of the starter save for Vice City, it too would be a good idea, as that is another game that isn't played much anymore since SA and the two stories games are out now.

I would like to thank everyone here also for their kind comments.

As for getting Vice City, it's already been started.. I'm sad to say that it isn't proving too great.. So i have a challenge on my hand, my aim is to do everything possible before mission 2. I will be using Demarest little trick for the second island and giving him credit for it, I'm a big fan of his. Not sure when the Vice City Ultimate Game Starter will be up, In the next 7/10 days I hope. Thanks again.

Last year I created a master save for San Andreas; and after that one for Vice City:

Aim of this save game was to complete all that can be done in Vice City WITHOUT doing the Story Missions.
No cheats or mods or whatever were used.

The following were found to be impossible to accomplish at this moment in the game:
* 3 consecutive jumps: only available during and after "G-spot" mission.
* 2 consecutive jumps near the Cortez yacht: accessible after Cortez' missions.
* Shooting Range in Ammu Nation Downtown: available after "The Shootist" mission.
* 4 helicopter checkpoint missions: no heli's appear until "Phnom Penh '86" mission.

The story missions + the above challenges will get you to 100%... and the Frankie T-shirt.


I was searching here if anyone had done something about a master save for GTA3. Lucky you thought about that!! I will try it in a minute.
Would you know if it is possible to save on the 2nd or 3rd islands immediately at the beginning of the game? I don't manage. Have the idea you first have to get your inmate-friend to the 1st hide-out. A pity.

Yes you can save on all the islands at the start of GTA3.

Hmm - strange. I jumped the bridge immediately after the cut scene. When I got to the hide-out I could open the garage but not save the game. Went to the 3rd island - same story there.
Since you say it is possible I will try again... I'll keep you posted.

Directly after the cut scene you're in a mission, taking 8-ball to the Portland hide-out. Complete that mission and the hideouts become available to save in.

Thanks for your kind words also, I didn't see you do a master save for ViceCity, I searched high and low. I did see one that was almost a master save but he missed a few stuff, however he was only missing one unique jump.. and you say a few is impossible to do?

For a few of the building jumps, I got a truck with a ramp at the back and jumped up them However I'm not sure which ones, I'll go back and check. My ViceCity release isn't gonna be done quite yet, I'm working my ass off all this week and purchasing my PS3 and GTAIV on the 29th It's the ONLY reason im buying a PS3.

Something laughing me is you MUST complete Give Me Liberty and Luigi's Girls in order to continue otherwise if you blow up the car or kill Misty or whatever it'll put u at same spot and then gangs start hating which makes it a nightmare to go back and collect 'em, I forgot about that and did the storyline now it's impossible to get into Portland.

I heard that it should be possible to get on the Hospital for 2 more jumps. Perhaps it's possible to do the 2 Cortez jumps as well? My stunt biking skills are zero and I got fed up with it. Sure some 'Stunt Biking Hero' can add this to the save game.

I said you can save at any of the three islands at the start but you can't save half way through a mission which you have to complete as soon as you start the game.

So I'm not wrong.

Correct, I did not understand your definition of 'at the start'. In San Andreas 'the start' is: as soon as you are in control of CJ. In GTA3 this is different; no problem.

Believe it or not I actually picked one up during a vigilant mission.. I've never seen any type of law vehicle before.

I've never obtained a 5 star wanted level whilst doing the island hopping, but from what I gather you need to officially open the second island in order to activate 5 stars.

I really wish I wrote a lot of the stuff down now how I completed it, but I done this starter save over a period of two days and rushed everything wanting to get to Vice City.

How did you pick it up during a vilignate mission? It was a car with the criminal?

When you get close to him, press pause, then when you resume... the criminal will get out of his car.
