I am excited that there were no red bulls in the top 3 for qualifying. Hopefully this season will be a lot closer at the top, although it is too early to say whether that will be the case or not. I didn't see qualifying but did raikkonen have some sort of problem? It's weird that he is near the back of the grid where as Grosjean is 3rd.

One of the reasons I grew out of FI was that I never had a driver to root for. I think Danny Ricciardo might change that.

Just tuned in. What happened to Schumacher?
Hope Vettel can somehow get past Jenson, but I doubt it.

well done McLaren, Hamilton was punished for his slow start but I wonder why he was lacking in pace, Vettel finished comfortably ahead of him and Button was extremely fast. Going to be a good year for Lotus it looks, and I feel for Maldonaldo, was fifth all through the race and then span off on the last lap, bad luck for Williams but they have definitley improved.

A promising start of the F1 season.

Unfortunately Mercedes scored 0 points and it looks like they still face problems when it's sunday and race. What's positive is that it looks like the qualifying pace is good at the moment and the field is tighter.

It looks like there's much potential in the Lotus car. Maybe Grosjean and Kimi can fight for podiums eventually?

What a horrible weekend for Ferrari and especially for Massa. Like I have said before Ferrari must get rid of the Brazilian driver. His pace and performance was like 4.5/5 in 2008, 3,5/5 in 2009. 2,5/5 in 2010, 1,5/5 in 2011, and 0.5/5 today. He is just getting worse and worse.

Good return effort for Kimi. I just hope Lotus have to money to keep developing the car thru the year -- like they didn't do last year.

Also, I agree with above, Ferrari need to ditch massa, but there's no one else that could've done better with the car as it is. It's just that Alonso does really well with such a dodgey car.

Well done to Williams, good to see they've got their s*it together -- if only they'd hired some real drivers instead of pay drivers. Maldonado must feel like a real twit for crashing right at the end.

It's great that there's another F1 race just one week after Australia. It's time for Sepang which I think always has been a good track. By the way it may rain during some parts of this weekend, no big suprise there.

Hamilton has topped both practice sessions for the Malaysian Grand Prix. He seems to be a front row contendor for qualifying.

My qualifying finish predictions are as follows: Hamilton and Button will make up a McLaren front row, with Vettel and Webber making up a Red Bull second row, with Alonso and Schumacher making the third row.

Another brilliant session from the Mclarens. But the best part is that Schumacher qualified in third position! The difference between him and the Mclarens also wasn't big at all. Hopefully Mercedes can clinch the Pole Position eventually. And now I really hope that Schumacher can finnish the race in at least Top-5.

I wonder when Schumi will get his first race win since returning to the track. He hasn't got a single podium finish yet. I hope he breaks his duck soon.

That was another great race today, but I fell asleep during the red flag and woke up a few laps after the retsart so missed the whole Button thing. I was rooting for perez at the end, unfortunately he just couldn't pass Alonso although I'm happy for ferrari.

Yes it sure was a great race today. I find it very funny that Alonso wins the race while his teammate Massa battles for 15th-16th position. The team must get rid of the Brazilian driver instantly. Driver of day was of course Sergio Perez. Really impressing performance by the Mexican.

Mercedes still struggles in race situations. Well, at least Schumacher managed to score 1 point..

f*cking HRTs cost Button a podium. They just need to get out of F1, they're like a moving chicane at every race. At least Caterham and Marussia are improving.

Would have been sooooo awesome if Perez won earlier this evening.

Only found out what his face looked like when he showed up at the presser, already like him more than Alonso.
