GTA Netcast Episode #1 With Andy, Ottae and TenaciousD.
Get it here! (URL fixed) (Temporarily hosted on my webspace provider until I can get it up on GTANet. Please don't rape my bandwidth. lolz.)
It's taken a while, but it's finally here. Yes, the first episode of the GTA Netcast is finally up! I wanted to get this done weeks ago, but a combination of time constraints (yay college) and trying to get other people involved led to several roadblocks. Thanks to Ottae (and TenaciousD.), however, the show has finally gotten its first episode.
Before we go any further, I want to clarify a few things.
• The running time of this episode is almost 1 hour exact. I tried to make it shorter, but I couldn't squeeze any less out of the 3+ hours of raw audio that I had started with. Don't worry, though -- there's three of us, so it's not just one person rambling on for an hour! • The audio quality is sub-par, I know. Due to hardware restrictions + cost restrictions + us never doing this before, the podcast consisted of us all sitting in Teamspeak (lousy codecs, amirite?) and chattering away. If you can handle sitting in Teamspeak for hours on end with clanmates/guildmates/whathaveyou, though, then this'll be nothing. • "Why are you so damn LOUD, Andy?" Main reason the audio levels are a bit out of whack can be blamed on both inexperience and Teamspeak. Because I'm the one recording, it seems, I end up being the loudest. I tried to balance things out as much as I could.
SHOW NOTES
QUESTION OF THE DAY • Will there be a 4th GTA IV trailer before the launch of the game? Ottae says no -- it'd be too much. I say yes; it'd be "icing on the cake" in addition to everything we've gotten so far.
HEADLINES • EA WANTS TO ASSIMILATE TAKE-TWO: We touch on a story that didn't receive any coverage on GTA4.net, but received a ton of coverage here on the forums. We share our thoughts on both the terms of the agreement and what a possible buyout of Take-Two could mean for the Grand Theft Auto series.
• HANDS-ON PREVIEWS: What was intended to be a brief discussion about the latest GTA IV previews became a more extensive discussion on Rockstar's innovation and GTA IV's evolution as a more realistic title.
• DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT: A hot issue for GTA IV fans, regardless of their console preference. We relate the GTA IV DLC to other "episodic" content from other games, and share our thoughts about what Microsoft and Rockstar have in store for us.
• OFFICIAL SITE / SITE UPDATES: A bit of praise -- and a bit of criticism -- is in store for the official GTA IV website.
I will comment soon. EDIT: lol @ Andy. Great intro.
FINALLY finished. Great work, and can't wait for the next one. Good work giving a variety of topics, and going outside the GTA IV area. Great editing. Good work. P.S. I think we might need to move this to gen chat, and maybe not pinned. People don't look at the top.

What did you expect?
well, your putting this on "public display" for everyone to hear, so the audio-quality of this should be one of the top priorities, since your not doing this for your ears only.

Awesome! Can't wait for the next episode!
And I don't think there'll be a Trailer 4. We've got 3 Trailers, plus a lot of screenshots. Information overload, like Ottae said. Plus, the game's going to be released in about 2 months.

This is great, you should really make it a bi-weekly thing. It's also a good thing to have so you don't have to read through all the news topics if you wan't to find anything about GTA IV, or any other GTA for that matter. Keep it up guys .
You should get some of the modders to put their news in too.
