Adds car reflections, screen space ambient occlusions and indirect lightning (SSAO, SSIL), bloom, motion blur, soft shadows, water to GTA San Andreas. Works with Shaders 3.0 videocards at full and limited for 2.0 videocards. It looks f*cking awesome in the pictures.
EDIT: I tried it myself, it looks really great, but there are a few things I'd like to point out. First, the shadows look wierd, all objects just have a wierd dark border around them, you can see the shadows just in the air. Second, enabling any anti-aliasing adds a wierd small white border around everything. Third, everything looks really dark. And last, it seems like all those dll files conflict with samp.dll, which is needed for playing samp. So, if I want to play with this mod, I have to remove samp.dll which makes me not be able to play sa-mp.

Is it possible to leave only the reflections? Because they are just epic. Everything else is... well, other things just don't look as good as the reflections. It would be awesome if I could just use the reflections. Also, it is kinda poorly optimized. I have a GeForce 8800 GTS, I can run Crysis and get good FPS, but this mod really drops my fps down. It doesn't go low to become unplayable, but still... Also, I noticed a bug in the reflections. It reflects the hud. This post has been edited by simkas on Thursday, Feb 28 2008, 13:20

To Squiddy: Exactly, this is fastest, any object filtering or reflections with cubemaps or raytracing for this game too slow (twice decreases speed at least).
To simkas: Reflection "bug" with hud is described in the docs. I will solve this in future at very high performance cost (as preset for high-end hardware) Shadows (actually occlusions) of better quality was not implemented, because it is too costly for hardware, current method simplyfied for better performance (in future releases separate preset for hq will be available). Antialiasing in Crysis also produce the same artifacts, but Crysis filter this problem a bit, fixing this also cost performance, but in future versions will be done as new preset. Dark? I did it that night will be darker than in original GTASA bright nights, but set BrightnessAdaptation to -10 and everything will be brighter at night time or in dark areas. I know about SAMP problem, this is simply to solve by injection in process my library, i'll do this later when somebody gives me working SAMP mod (all multiplayers i downloaded seems not working with my game version, may be that was not SAMP?). Turn of SSAO and bloom by pressing shift+f9 and shift+f10. About optimization, i did special edition for GF8xxx series that works much faster, it's the specific of the game that it has too many objects in scene that must to be rendered to depth buffer (on gf8xxx Stalker 0.068 mod use directly depth buffer), this decreases performance almost twice when playing in the city, also screen space ambient oclusion algorithm in Crysis (which is available to gamers, not disabled) easier in arithmetic, only darkening and almost not noticable (for less visibility of noise). Anoter performance problem is filtering, by default i set max level, try set FilterQuality to 2. Filtering algorithm is not good looking, i'm working on it. Optimization in general is not too high, because it is beta and some unused code executes (left from previous versions), but it's only 5-10% of speed. Anyway there are a lot other ways to "optimize" by skip some computations, everything in future releases, when support for ATI cards will be available also. By the way, on GF8600 Crysis with enabled occlusions run at 12 fps, with disabled about 18 (in the scene i remember these values).
To donvito: Try set AlternativeDepth=0, AllowAntialiasing=0, BugFixMode=0 or 2 (never set 1 for drivers 169.xx or 171.xx), disable in game antialiasing (multisampling) and in driver control panel also (including antialiasing transparency). If this not help, set SkipShaderOptimization=1 or try to install drivers 162.xx or 163.xx series (169.xx and 171.xx is a bugs box). Also try to disable bloom and ssao (shift+f9, shift+f10), reflection must work. Strange by the way, GF7xxx series was tested.
To GTAdedan and MasterK: ATI 1xxx and 2xxx will be tested later, i don't have these videocards. And videocards with only Shader Model 2.0 support mostly too slow for SSAO effect, i can make support for them if required (radeons 9500-9800, x300-x850, gf5200-5950).

| QUOTE (Vecis @ Feb 28 2008, 15:46) | sh*te! Thats amazing! Reflections, lighting and bloom are awesome! I wish i could try it. By the way - what did you used to make it? |
To Vecis You mean what? Compiler? Visual Studio NET 2003 (c++). To Squiddy: Better reflections is performance problem only, i left this version because some folks asks me for fast reflections for integrated videocards. I prefer to tesselate car models or change lightning to achieve better image quality instead of playing with low geometry cars with perfect reflections (imho). Dudes, if everything is so bad, i'll do true reflections. Guys, if something you don't like or want to see in this mode, just tell me, that in next version something better appear.
