If you are playing MTA:GTA3, or want to play, but you dont know how, post here.

For me and a lot of peoples on this forums, GTA3 is the best game. This topic is for bring players to play oldschool MTA:GTA3, and tell others: MTA:GTA3 IS NOT DEAD!
There are still playing new and old peoples. ~15 players on one server isnt too much, but there can be more if YOU join.

What is MTA?
Its multiplayer for GTA3/VC.

How to start?

Download:
Multi Theft Auto 0.5 client:

GTA3 v1.1 patch:

The most popular server ip:port: 83.133.125.167:2010

Before you start, be sure if you havent any mods installed and you have patched GTA3 to 1.1 version.

Important!
To play on this server you must to change your nickname in mta client OPTIONS from MTAPlayer. This nick have autokick.

A little FAQ
When you are clicking "Start Game" button and have error: "Invalid executable".
- You must to install GTA3 v1.1 patch.
Missing mtassv.scm, mtapl.scm, mtasi.scm, weapons.mta...file:
- Reinstall MTA. Be sure if you have correct patch to GTA3 directory.
"Game modified" error:
- Reinstall GTA3.
MTA cant start:
- Because you have antivirus/firewall or your internet connection is closed.

Because without this MTA doesn't start and you have "Invalid executable" error. Do you have problem with installing patch?

This is patch 1.1 installer. Just unpack and install.

So this is actually GTA 3 online and a lot of people play it? I assume you need the pc version of the game though. It has my interest, but I just don't know if this will work and I don't feel like paying $20 for the PC game just for it to crap out on me.

Ooookay... Then why post in a multiplayer topic? I mean, it's not like you can play multi without the game.
Anyway, GTAIII is usually pretty stable, what with it being, i don't know, 7 years old.
I play it sometimes. Not very often tho...

hes talking about mp not gta3 and there can be problems getting it to work and it will crash every now and then

"a lot of ppl playing it" would be exaggerated, i dont play gta3 mta myself anymore so stoku would have more precise numbers than me

once http://liberty-unleashed.co.uk is gonna be released there should be quite a few ppl playing it, we hope

Nice to hear this words;). Like Astarot said. There are playing about 7-9peoples. Sometimes there are 12players;). If you see cheater you always can report it to admin. On UMS server admins are online 12/7;). There isnt too much cheaters too. 1cheater per month or less.

seems nice but when i tried with vice city and clicked on play multi theft auto i just got a black screen for a very long time. I also have gta 3 but the whole things confusing can someone write a step by step process plz?

1. Install GTA3.
2. Download and install patch 1.1 for GTA3.
3. Download and install MTA 0.5.
4. Change your nick in MTA options.
5. Find server, click connect and start game

Okay, the download link leads fine, but the file is no longer hosted (as of today, from what I can tell). I'd very much like to download the latest version of MTA:GTA3, as I am an avid player of the SA version (and the baddest cop online, ask around...), and I have, and always will, loved GTA3 the best of all others in the series.

If you could route me to an alternative client host, I would forever be in your debt.
