I kind of grew up on grunge. I don't nearly listen as much anymore but some favorites are...

Days Of The New
Smashing Pumpkins
Alice In Chains
Pearl Jam
Bush

I sometimes find myself listening to Nirvana's MTV Unplugged album too. The Man Who Sold The World is a spectacular cover.

Out of all the Seattle bands, SG is my favorite. Badmotorfinger is just kick-ass, though Superunknown and Down On The Upside are awesome too.

Ah, Cornell... Sucks that he can't sing live like he used to back in the Badmotorfinger days.

That's everybody's problem.

You might have seen them on MTV if you were around in '93/'94.

Screaming Trees is also a great band from that era.

I prefer Mark Lanegan's solo work, though.

Ahh yes. 'Grunge' was my music of choice growing up, and most bands I liked in the early '90s I still listen to now.

The biggest for me was Alice in Chains. Of course I dug on Nirvana and Soundgarden. I was happy to see Days of the New mentioned. Funnily enough I didn't like Pearl Jam as a teen, but became more appreciative of them as an adult.

Other mentions:

STP
Screaming Trees
Mudhoney
Mother Love Bone

and even though it could be debated whether or not they fit this list:

Failure

Way to make a sh*tty remark about something you don't like in its topic that you don't have to be in, Uno! icon14.gif

I am a grunge fan, but I've never really liked Nirvana. The incident with their frontman was bad, but that isn't a definitive reason to say you "like" 'em. I just think they are over-rated.

As for STP, I really don't think they are grunge at all. Yes their Core album did sound that way, but its compostition was far different. Then they sounded more pop-ish through the years.

So basically, this is my opinion: In grunge Nirvana is Led Zeppelin, Pearl Jam is Green Day, and STP are, well, themselves.
