Hey, I'm new here, and just thought I'd ask a quick (hopefully) question regarding the image file.


I'm running San Andreas on steam, (fully bought, etc etc), and I downloaded a weapon pack that had me change stuff around in the gta3.img file, and I didn't make a backup...I'm trying to not have to download it again, seeing how it took like five hours to download, so I was hoping that someone had a backup of that file that they can upload for me?

(btw I need the original file, because after tooling around with the mine, the game won't start at all!)

Yeah. Reinstall the game, make backups and install the mod.
Also, do you know at least to install mods?

Well, you make a copy of your image files for backup, (lol.) and then you replace the files in x.img with your new files found in your mod, like replacing sultan.txd with your modified sultan.txd, then rebuild archive?

my gta.img got messed up. i installed the game back but the img still stays the same. wtf

You'll have to redownload it, its your own fault for not Backing gta3.img up.

If you intend to mod, ALWAYS make a backup of the ENTIRE San Andreas folder.

All you can do in your case is uninstalling GTA and doing a fresh install.

first, uploading it would take ages, second the steam one isnt moddable so dont try, third BACKUP ive lost alot from not backing up

You'll probably have a full download from steam in less time than it takes the average pc to zip it and for a server to upload it and then let you download it again. Hell, you could have downloaded the entire game several times already.

It would take you two seconds to delete local content and hit install again in steam.

We're not a file sharing network and making back ups is rule number 1 in modding.

You have version 3.0, 2.0 and up is not moddable. You will need some form of Downgrader
Patch or No DVD exe of version 1. That information is free knowledge, but we cannot
and will not provide it to you in public space. Check your PM.

i was fully deleting the rd d2 mod beacause in sami ii didnt uninstall it i delleted the files and rebliult it but when i go any where near where rd-2d ( forklift was it froze and i have to restart the whole cromputer the wot do i do help!!!

WTF?How would it take two seconds?You would still have to download it which would take longer than two seconds!

Not re-download
Re-Install
Then just set another Directory and it install clean
