If you can work out what goes in this thread, then you either need a pair of glasses or to wander off back to "special" school. This thread is for talking about Punk. Love it or hate it, it's been around since the 70's and it doesn't look to fade away just yet.

Oh, and to anyone who says Punk is dead: You're just not looking hard enough. sese.gif

I still listen to the Clash. Have you seen the movie / documentary they did years ago? It brought shivers to my spine when they performed live in the small club. Believe it's called "Rude Boy".

I'm sorry for questioning this list, but how are the Gallows punk? I like them and everything, but I don't see them as being punk so much. A few songs have punk influenced riffs but the Gallows themselves... I don't know, maybe it's just a clash of opinion.

I think it may be.

I'll admit Gallows aren't punk in the traditional sense, though they do beckon back to the days of UK82. Just because they don't dress punk, either, doesn't mean they're not punk. It isn't all about the image. I think the only thing that makes me doubt them on occasion is their subject matter, which at times isn't all that "punk." Though bands have sung about stupider things.

Vancouver Hardcore, man.

If you want to talk hardcore, go no further than tri-state/new england hardcore. The northeast ruled the scene in the 80s and we still rule it today.

I'm still a fan of the NYHC & UK82 scenes myself. Great bands like Agnostic Front, Madball, Exploited, Charged G.B.H. etc etc.

I've never been a fan of grindcore until recently, I've been put off by all the Scene Kid-wannabe bands like Waking The Cadaver ruining it for everyone else. tounge2.gif Check them out I will!
