This guy was all over the place, usually small and off to the side of a larger piece. Dunno if it was someone's signature, or a Spanish thing or what...


The thing about the graffiti there is obvious: it's art. It's not some guys name (or what he wants people to call him), hastily done in the middle of the night. These guys come in broad daylight, set up with 40 or so cans, and get to work...sometimes 3 or four artists at once. They don't tag to stick it to the man - they have a message or inspiration, and it's culturally accepted to show it to the world...or at least the guys at the nearby construction site. They draw crowds at times, and it's really impressive just watching a piece come together. A week later it gets covered up by another artist with another vision.

We went on a Spanish trip with school in summer 2005, and were assigned some time with the local kids. I thought it was going to be really awkward and crap, as they didn't look too exciting. I was dead wrong, as they took us to an abandoned swimming pool which they'd spent all year scrawling on. They shoved some spray paint in our hands and we were let loose on it. I don't have pictures so I don't know if this constitutes as a spam post or not.

On the other hand, I do have a link to graffiti in my city of Manchester, some are really quite simple but effective, the best kind of graffiti in my books. A simple scrawl with a name or a message is more powerful than anything else in my opinion.

I really think this piece would look awesome on a heavily rusted or dirty metal siding. Possibly with the metal siding having bolts as well. Something similar to:

Imagine that as reverse graffiti. Dirt and dark siding as the outside with the lettering clean and a type of sanded shiny metal.

It's got that old school feel to it. Reminds me a lot of the CT scene in the early 90s. CYCLE, JIVE, ACID, GESER, TAHOE and all those niggas puttin in work up here with a similar style. But for the love of god, fix your f*cking E. E's are supposed to have three prongs, not 2 1/2. Not feelin' some of the extensions either but that isn't bothering.

Points taken..yeah i was disapointed with Es too (that f*cking e at the end is diabolical). Ive been working with limited nozzle sizes, but i just got some fat, skinny and caligraphy caps so ill see what i can come up with next

Yeah, I gotta agree with Laz here.

You've got the paint, but you don't have the skills. I'm betting my nan could do better. Practice alot on paper inside the house, then use plywood or somesh*t in your backyard. Just get better before you hit the streets.

Like i said, it was all painted in awkward conditions. Theres a couple of legal spots i could bother with and a couple of other places to practice, but eh, we shall see.
