I did some searching as to who Clea, the American woman from The Graveyard Shift level was and stumbled upon a forum discussion Hitman 2 players had back in '02. They share their ideas on her random appearance in Diana's absence. Give it a quick read, warning, it turns into a bit of a tiff. Who is Clea, players discuss.| QUOTE | doubt very much this is intentional.
A little detective work:
Fact A: In the credits, under Support, the name "Clea Stewart" appears. (I had the name wrong.)
Fact B: I replayed the mission... in text, the name is Clera. However the audio the actor clearly says "Clea". (A typo probably.)
Theories, deductions, and suppositions:
1) The name Clea is very unique. Either they chose to name this character after that support person, or this is a big coincidence. It would not surprise me if in a last minute fix, stumped for a name, they let it match the real name of the person who read the copy.
2) In games and movies, character names are usually chosen for their personality, such as "Han Solo" for a lone rogue, to use an example again. "Diana" is a good name for a hit agency administrator. "Clea" is a nice name, but sounds very off-the-wall for a character.
3) I happen to do voiceovers as a side job, and I've had some training in that area. IMHO, the reading of that line was done well for an average person, but not as professional as the reading of Diana's script.
4) The text is "...Now, you must access the skybridge to reach the other tower for completion of this mission." This is VERY stale verbiage, reminiscent of a Windows message box... My guess is that QA staff wrote it without assistance of script writers.
5) Coincidentally, the skybridge map shows the skybridge greyed out... It does not look as if it's a walkable area. The exit is also off in the corner of the map. It wouldn't surprise me if many testers failed to notice that windows could be shot out, and were frustrated.
6) If they desired to introduce a new character, they could easily have done so at the beginning of the next game. This is hardly a cliffhanger. In movies, when you wish to leave something open for a sequel, you leave a clear question in the minds of the audience. This left confusion, but not a "clear question", because this Clea character was never fully introduced. |
Hmmm.

I suggest we use this topic as an open area to discuss the latest news about Hitman 5. Let me start by presenting something new: | QUOTE | Members of the Hitman forum are all a tizzy over a new clue pointing to the possibility of a Hitman 5 reveal at E3.
After the first clue surfaced, a picture of a script on a table with a pair of black leather gloves, another one showing a box of jelly doughnuts known in Denmark as a ‘berliner’ came from the Sundance film festival. The clue pointed folks towards the Berlinale film festival, which ended on February 16.
Then there was another picture sent, along with coordinates pointing to Lake Ontario, near Toronto,Canada and the Canadian National Exhibition Centre.
It’s all a bit much and confusing, but if you can look over the forums yourself. Take some Tylenol before start probing the 15-page thread though.
Eurogamer was told last year that the next Hitman game was being worked on and could possibly see a release “next year,” meaning 2011.
Hopefully IO and Square won’t keep us waiting much longer.
Thanks, Eurogamer. | From VG247 Go the to the linked website to see the links of the leaked pictures, and the thread from Hitman forums where they discuss these leaks. We also should have our own discussion! This post has been edited by FiS!!HeR on Wednesday, Mar 16 2011, 17:34
