We are always pleased to have new players. The next round will take atleast one more week to commence. If you have read the first page, you will know that we were playing with a special save created by OrionSR & pdescobar. The next round too will have some specialities which may take some time. I hope to see you in Round 22 and I also hope that you enjoy it thoroughly.

The Chain Game Round 22 - coming soon.

Round 21 finished in only 2 weeks and 2 days; we were not prepared for the rapid pace of the current rounds, and haven't finished the updates yet. I hope to get a beta copy of the round 22 save sometime this morning and will begin testing of the new features. There are several additional garage modifications, a few other experimental features, and at the late minute we are trying to work in a dedication theme for rubregg. Ordinarily we could probably get the next round started by the weekend, but with the Jump Coordinator out on medical leave, and our Master Coder out of town through the weekend, we don't expect to be able to start the next round until early next week.

In the meantime, I encourage people to investigate the current round's save archive for hidden features. There are still many to be discovered, and I'd like to get the map filled in so people can play with them. There are quite a few vehicles to be discovered, many of them in obvious locations, but the vehicle puzzle will be difficult to solve using only a single save. Other than the Property Tax clue, all of the feature classes have been discovered. There are only so many modifications that can be made to a save file, so where I make one edit, I often make many more.

We did not received nearly as many game crash reports this round. I suspect this is partially because people are a little more cautious about extended turns without saving, but I also get the impression that the modifications we made between round 20 and round 21 were effective. If this is an inaccurate observation please provide details on the crashes.

Thanks everyone for playing and making another successful chain game. As Orion mentioned, I'll be out of town for the next several days, so please keep this topic open until the next round starts. That way I'll get a chance to update the found stuff list and it will also provide people an opportunity to report any stability problems with this round, discuss feature finds, etc.

EDIT: Found stuff list updated through end of Round 21.

Good work guys, finished another round incredibly quickly.

And hopefully I'll be playing again in the next round/one after that, only had one turn this time round. Been pretty busy after the first round I played in finished.

Great to see this finished. Looking forward to the next round.

Next round I should be able to play more, because in the past few weeks I've been studying hard for exams. Now that they're passed, I have more time on my hands.

Thats because you have a version 1 (v1) game.
You need a v2 game or a v2 script to play the chain game.
Get you'r v2 script here.
And make a backup v1 script, so when you wanna play you'r save files,
just switch the scripts or the game will crash.

There's a version 1 starter save linked in the 1st post. That should work for you if you don't want to swap out your scripts. But there's also a link to a script switching utility that makes this process very easy. If you already have your scripts in order, some people reported conflicts with CLEO, but I didn't understand what the problem was. And when all else fails, a new install usually solves most problems. The saves should run properly on a default install of a version 2 game, or default installation of version 1 with the v2 scripts used instead of v1.

Pretty darn good, and thanks for asking. I've got a new set of modifications I'm pretty excited about. The 1st round of testing has gone very well. I think there are only a handful of small adjustments that need to be made, and retested on a new save. pdescobar is back in town so I hope to get an update in a day or two, and a couple days after that the next round should be starting.

We have yet to update our list of discoveries, and almost all of the existing features will remain the same. There are quite a few features that will be much easier to find on a late game save, so if anyone wanted to get a jump on the hunt, they might consider loading up a few of the saves from round 21.

Has anyone made any progress on the vehicle puzzle? The testers figured out a pattern to my methods and quickly discovered many of the early additions. Here's a hint on a tough one: There's a second underwater vehicle - one that is normally not available through undrowning.

I hope so. But let's not hurry. OrionSR will require some time to make the save perfect and glitch-free. So, we'll wait.

And it would be better if we use The Chain Game Topic for further discussions.
