Ok im kinda wondering here. My PS3 made the funniest noise EVER a few minutes ago lol. It literally made a fart noise. What would that of been?

Man i am getting more and more excited for this Youtube stuff, i have been practising commentaries by myself, and i will admit, i am not that great haha but a little more practice will do the trick.
I really want to entertain people! I have always enjoyed entertaining, although being class clown at school got me into trouble, i loved making people laugh and have fun, hopefully i can do this here as well.

Reason i am waiting till the end of the year is two reasons.
1. Hopefully V and Blops 2 come out around then, i want to release new content on new games and hopefully gain a decent audience at least , i would be happy with a thousand views a video.
2. I plan to have more time at the end of the year for this little hobby.

it might be interesting.. i just hope you will make something original instead of just COD commentaries, i'm not a fan of COD and watching it bore me to death so mixing COD commentaries with GTA and some other games (like Uncharted) would be better IMO, also will you have a bigger/wider audience if you did that, Good Luck..

By the way, if i were doing a mission walkthrough, would you want the cutscenes cut out?

Sounds like your laser has burnt out. Same thing happened my PS3 and I bought a new laser off Ebay for £30 and replaced it myself. My system ran fine from then on. There are plenty of tutorial videos on Youtube on how to open your PS3 and replace the laser. Point to note though is that you will need a good fw different sizes of screwdrivers to get all the tiny screws out. Best of luck.

No, i enjoy watching cut-scenes.. but if a cut-scene contains a BIG spoiler (i.e important character dying) then it would be better to cut it out or at least put *SPOILER ALERT* in the name

I could put annotations saying to skip to X point in video to skip the cutscene.

Anyone help me out here? Same problem as before, I need some shared experience if you know what is the cause... All demos that were stored on my PS3 from PSN will not function, I've tried them repeatedly, repeat shutting off the console, rebooting, trying the videos (NON DEMOS) and they worked, photos worked, everything on the dash board still works, so WTH!?!?

I am at wits end on this thing, it could be the system is SNAFU but pretending to be functional enough to marginally use it

I got some questions on YLOD self-repairing.

a) If i buy a PS3 Slim, will i able to just login to my PSN account on it without any trouble, or do i have to deactivate something via the old PS3 or Sony site, for it to work?
b) How can one determine what caused a YLOD, if it's possible? Some say 3 things are cause it, 1 overheating, 2 faulty power supply and 3 some virus/hacking. Overheating is the 90% of the cases they also say.
c) I've tried the hair-dryer tricks without opening my fat 40 GB one. Basically heat up for 20 mins, cool down for 40 and so. Didn't work. Only thing left that i didn't try is to open it to the motherboard, and do a trick as shown in one of gilsky's videos(reflow it, etcetra). But can the hair-dryer trick not working indicate what caused the ylod?

I'll probably have some more questions, after i get some answers for those, so i hope someone can help me.

Since you can have your account activated on 5 systems, you should be able to sign in as normal if you buy a new console.

I can't get online, the Ethernet blocks unknown devices, though it's been tried hard-wired. I've downloaded the demos while online back in my old abode, but the system was stored for a number of months, I tried this same tact with two different HDD, the 40GB original, and the 100GB upgrade, some how I moved accounts to the new 100GB for the most part, from the 40Gig, perhaps it had a USB installed at the time, Not sure how it happened to be.
The demos would be started and freeze as the graphics transition from dashboard to a normal load screen (all I see is black now)

.... and yes, I have online gaming friends, John The Judge is still a member here, we met up in RDR online wit XBL, and Piperka in PS3 so far, not as many gamers matching PS3 PSN actually, since I play Xbox more.

UPDATE, new 4/12
I have seen SKU listings for backward compatibles, not handy at present, but wasn't one of the 40Gig models backward compatible?
I'm wondering if replacing the drive as I need to do might allow PS2 games to read, I doubt it though.

Semi-n00b question, Is it possible to play blu rays with a keyboard (navigate the menus)? I don't have a controller at the moment and would like to watch a blu ray.

A Keyboard and mouse you mean?
Well you can browse the net with a KB and mouse.

I guess you would have to try.
