Are you sure it's an iso? Try mounting it.

If it just looks like an iso, but it's actually a package, right click it and choose "show package contents". I think iPhoto stores files in packages.

The .iso is for linux and it is the only file showing, even though Disk Utility sees more files on the drive, not contained in the .iso.

Saw one at the Apple Store, lovely screen.

Anyone know a good place to buy a used Macbook/Pro/Air? I know good ole Ebay is one, but anyone know of a better place?

I think you can buy them straight from Apple as refurb machines.

Put windows on it which makes me sad but it plays DayZ flawlessly and it reboots super fast to get back to MacOS for everything else. Can't recommend it enough.

Imi is right, refurb is the way to go. Decent discount and full years cover from Apple. If buying used try to get something with AppleCare on it.

So it seems my wifi on my macbook has crapped out. It can see access points, but it times out whenever it tries to connect to one. My other devices connect to my network, and I've tried my macbook on other networks to be sure it's not only mine.

f*ck.

EDIT: And now 8 hours later it works. Goddamn weird.

ANOTHER F*CKING EDIT: It now times out when connecting to any network again. This is starting to get f*cking irritating.

Looking to buy a 13 or 15 inch MacBook Pro non-retina with an i7 processor. Apparently the 13 inch comes with 2.9GHz and a 15 inch only comes with up to 2.6GHz... anyone would like to opt on what my pick should be?

And also, since I have never had a Mac, I plan on getting Parallels to run any Windows operations that may come my way. I looked up some YouTube videos on the software and it looks clean.... but I trust GTAF more. Anyone care to share they're opinions on it? Anyone have Parallels?

Parallel is renowned for being good and reliable at running Windows applications on Mac, or so from what I've heard, I've never used a Mac but I've never seen anyone complain about it. I would go for the 13 inch if the screen size doesn't matter and the performance is noticeable. Otherwise go for the 15 inch as the screen size may be more noticeable than the speed increase on the 13 inch and also using your Mac will be a lot easier and more comfortable.

EDIT: 0.3GHz difference isn't noticeable that much, especially when using an i7 which will run almost all applications extremely smoothly. So I say 15 inch.

Thanks mate. I'm gonna give Parallel a try then. Also, thank you for mentioning the fact that 0.3GHz won't make too muchof a difference. Since I do like to work with a bigger screen and it won't make too much difference I'll go with the 15 inch. icon14.gif

What sort of Windows software will you be hoping to run? Anything like games? In which case I'd reccomend just installing Windows on a separate partition.

Hey, not sure on the software, I just want a computer that can run Windows as well. How can i install windows in a noter partition?

Well, with that being said, I went through with the 13 inch and am using it right now. Anyone have any links or videos that introduce the user to some of Mac's unique features? OSX Mountain Lion by the way. Got a great deal with free Office for Mac. Thank you Best Buy.

Apple calls it "bootcamp". Basically, run the bootcamp assistant (comes with your mac) and it will allow you to set up a partition and install Windows.

Then, after you've installed windows, the bootcamp assistant on the Windows side will download a series of drivers for all of your hardware.

This is by far the best way to run windows if you ask me; if you don't mind to reboot every time you switch over. On my retina MBP this only takes seconds, but my previous MBP (late 2010 model) it took a while to boot up windows.

Parallels, on the other hand, will allow you to run Windows "inside" of OSX. Very handy if you need to flip back and forth between the two.

Thanks fellas, I've been trying to get used to the new Apple experience. It is very similar to Windows, but I still don't see the point in things like Mission Control and some others. Still getting the finger commands or whatever you call them memorized.

I bought parallels about four or five years ago -- but then didn't use it much. Then the version ran out and it was useless. As mentioned, using boot camp is the cheapest best way to go. And after poking around things on OS x for a while, you'll find you can do pretty much anything on OSX that you'd used to do on windows. Maybe apart from some gaming.

I disagree, but to each their own.

The real question is: iPhone 5 or Nokia Lumia 920?
