No optical drive though? Call me old fashioned, but I like having a hard copy of movies, music, and the sort to access off of a disc.

Dirty bump.

Anyone else stoked about Apple's WWDC tomorrow? I've been itching for a new rig for ages now, and it looks like this is going to be a bloody Mac....stravaganza? Mactacular? Mac...simum?

Anyhow! Rumors are, and very likely, we'll see updates to Mac Pros, Macbook Air, iMacs, and Macbook Pro. I'm looking forward to a new MBP. With or without the rumored retina display, I'm all in.

Might even grab an iMac for the home computer. This is what happens when you don't have time to play videogames anymore.

If I had the cash I'd be excited for it. I desperately want to replace my white Macbook with an iMac since I'm not in college anymore and don't have much use for another notebook.

But, money is a bit tight since I bought my gun. And it doesn't look like I'll have enough spare cash anytime soon to buy a new computer.

I'm excited to see what happens, just got a new Mac Pro, so I won't be buying anything new for a while so I'm not too excited on the hardware end. I keep hearing rumors about running PC programs natively with no emulator, but I think they are just rumors, wish they weren't I would like to run a full version of Solidworks without having to A) buy a new PC and B) use boot camp. Never used CAD outside of work so far, I think I need to look into to it for a while.

Like, running Windows apps natively in OSX? That'd be wild. Ive used wine and wine bottler for a few things before and it works quite well, but for some reason I can't see full integration any time soon.

Butyeah, would be pretty rad!

Nerdgasm. I'm off the the Apple Store tomorrow. I barely have enough cash but I have to have that retina mac.

Then to sell this Mac Mini I bought 3 months ago and my ageing 13inch MacBook Pro.

Also, Mountain Lion looks ace. Built in Airplay is pretty epic and Power-Nap.

iOS6 stuff looks neat but I don't care much for that until iPhone 5.

Is it just me or did they completely omit the iMac from the update roundups? Ivybridge and a 680m GPU would have totally made it a killer combo.

On another note, I'm completely not impressed by what iOS6 brought to the table. Most are US only updates so I can't even use them. Same goes for mountain lion, Although for 20 dollars, I'll still bite around august when most bugs have been ironed out. Can't afford being an early adopter and having to deal with any bugs that will inevitably surface as is usually the case.

The Retina Display is cool and all, but god damn it's expensive for what it is.

It is expensive, especially for what it seems like just one new feature - but hey that's Apple.

Find me a better laptop that can become a stable hackintosh for cheaper, and maybe I'd consider it. tounge.gif

Okay, I just accidentally bought a $20 app on the Mac App Store using a Gift Card. Stupid, I know. Is there anything I can do to get my money back and use it on another app? whatsthat.gif

...you could try to send a nice email and ask for your money back. I know they have the architecture to deal with this as in some countries they're legally forced to provide a return option. Who knows. A kind word in the right ear goes a long way.

Speaking of which, I'm scoring a bit of a discount on my new macbook. Still a chunky piece of cash, though. Can't wait until I get it! Fully loaded!

Sent the e-mail and got my refund! Didn't really think they would, guess this was kinda surprising.

Oh, by the way I think I might have downloaded something that might have infected my Mac with a WhiteSmoke virus. Apart from the unchangeable search bar and slow Mac performance no other symptoms have been shown.

Any idea how to remove this? I've never dealt with a virus before.

I've never got infected with a virus before. I've only detected Trojans but they are easy to take care of.

this link might help, that was just from a Google search. How do you think you got infected anyway? Do you have any anti-virus programs? I use ClamXav, it's a free program but apart from that I have no experiences with virus detection/removal.

I wonder how well this puppy's gonna run games. Will be nice to play Skyrim with a few more of the shiny bits turned on. But MP3? Can't wait to find out.

...in 3 - 4 weeks. sad.gif
