Um hey guys, just popping in for a random question (posting this question in the random question topic too, but thought this could also help.) Not strictly about the Mac OSX itself but more so of a suitable application for my need. I'm really interested in creating music, it all started with a little compilation then another then another - eventually that got me into rap compilations and singing/songwriting. I always like electronic music too so I it's only logical I do something like that. I don't have experience playing instruments but hey I might give some MiDi keyboard stuff a go, but nevertheless mind the 'origin' tangent. I've heard the 'most' used program is FL Studio, however that is a Windows only program, but I had downloaded and played around with the trial demo via Crossover and actually worked well. All the things were working correctly (I just had some issues with Crossover not working with other Windows applications) so I figured it's the application worth to buy and learn. My question is though are there any other programs Mac compatible of that type of caliber i.e high usage, lots of tutorials available .etc I've read that Ableton Live is good (thought the interface was not as easy to work with for me), Reason, REAPER and Logic Express/Studio and a couple others listed here: http://alternativeto.net/software/fl-studio/Should I bother with these other programs? Or since FL Studio worked fine via Crossover I should just buy and learn that.

I recommend Traktor Pro 2, it's quite simple tu understand yet very effective. It's what I use, does wonders.

Holy sh*t, Matthew, that's rad. I think that's what's going to push me to buy the new iPad. @ Benjimino: look into Reason. Now, ladies and gentlemen... who here is chomping at the bit for the new Macbook? Rumors are a thinner lighter design (no optical drive) and a 220ppi display. Longer battery times, faster, cooler Ivy bridge quad core, NVidia graphics. Should be able to run the f*ck out of minecraft. But, no, seriously, this is gonna be a wicked little machine. Can't wait.
