You are sanding that thing down with your bare hands? That's a hell lot of work, why don't you just use that machine which blasts sand onto the car to remove all the paint allowing you to see the rust spots? Don't know how expensive that process is, and what it is called.

Pretty cool car though, you could make it into a European A-Team Van, or an American School bus (the colors that is).

Sand blasting = sand everywhere. tounge.gif And nop, I'm using an angle grinder with a wire brush on the end - it gets a much smoother and finer finish, and is handy since the last owner was a polyfiller whore. Yes it takes ages, but I'll get there in the end.

I think the van looks a lot like the Mystery Machine in shape - but I really wouldn't want a Mystery Machine. I think I might paint it yellow and have some crappy plumber's name on the side, then fill it with a nice table, chairs, then my computer system and recording equipment, plus a wall of amps. Leaves me with a mobile guitar studio. biggrin.gif Either way, I still plan on driving to Russia in this - so it needs to be liveable in - so I suppose it's more a matter of floorplan suggestions. I'm planning on welding on the sliding door for example (since it always falls off anyway) and just using the back rear doors for access.

The guy with the skyline never got back, plus I saw it advertised several times this week. So now to my next decision. I was thinking about getting a 240sx coupe, probably a 91' or so and converting it into a Silvia S13. Does anyone know of any GOOD conversion kits for doing so? I want to have everything planned out before I buy anything. I don't want any FnF carbon style crap, just a stock S13 conversion kit for a 250sx coupe. I have already found all the parts I need locally in an ad, but if that is unavailable, I want a second source.

In this photo you can see an unique atmosphere of today's historical racing. Catching this moment was just great.

I'm on the good way to commit something totally stupid, means buying a racecar, which is in this case a Fiat 500 abarth 1993.

There's a lot of fun in a racecar, especially these small Fiat 500's, but the costs sad.gif .

Maintaining such a car can be a real pain.

Actually this is the point. Maintaining something bigger would be a pain in the ass. This is easy to maintain oneself, plus complete overhauls are not complicated and FAST.

And sets of wheels/tires come cheap. it was all considered.
