Hello beebul. Anything that doesn't enter into the other categories of topics goes here. Including your pics of doing something with your car, random stuff you learned, anything offtopic but car related.

Let's start. Do you think Porsche WILL actually buy VW?

Doesn't VW own Porsche? Or was I wrong all this time?
Got any links? This sounds interesting.

I'm pretty sure that Porsche owns about 30% of VW shares.

This is true. However, according to Autoblog, rumors abound of Porsche making a full bid on VW. Porsche has already been throwing its weight around pressuring VW to nix competitors to the 911 (R8, Gallardo, Veyron).

Personally, I think that's a load of crock. The 911 is still the benchmark for the sports cars around the world, and they'll still make pot loads of money with their low-but-not-too-low volume sales plan. Porsche is the most profitable car company in the world.

But yes, I think Porsche will buy VW. Hopefully VW will divert some attention to their own line up. Bring back the Scirocco!

Thanks to some good ol' research, I figured out the Porsche already owns a 27% stake in VW. They want to raise it to 31%, mainly because they don't want VW to fall into Non-German hands.

So proud of their country wow.gif

If Porsche buy VW though, I don't know will this do any favour. Porsche make sports cars, VW make Saloons etc, however, if Porsche integrated vehicles like the Cayenne into VW, I think it would be great.

Porsche already work with VW on some technology and engines anyway. They worked together on the Cayenne... so I don't see why Porsche vent their crazy saloon car ideas through VW.

Porsche probably won't buy VW, but as a VW lover I don't really care. The only VW's I actually want to own are Mk. 1's and air-cooled's and both are no longer produced. Now if Porsche had VW make a small Lupo or Polo sized MR or RR car that'd be cool. It could be light as HELL and have a lightly modified engine that doesn't weigh much like a 1.6 or 1.4 That would actuallt be interesting.

Woo general chat, perfect place for me. Now, can anyone think of how a 1999 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-T with:
QUOTE
The exterior is in excellent condition and there are no visible scratches, dings, or dents.
Also the interior is in excellent condition and shows no signs of wear in the seats, dash, door panels, or carpet.
Mechanically the vehicle is in perfect condition, it runs and drives 100%.
The title is clear and you will receive it with the car.
The car passed the test emissions and comes with all the documents you need to registerd (TITLE, owner manual, two rows of keys..)

Could cost $8500 USD? Please ignore the sh*t stickers and bodykit:

They probably forgot to include an engine in the price. You'll have to do it like the Flintstones.

It's not a GT-R, thats why it's cheap. Plenty of cheap R32s to R34s in the UK, even turbos, but the GT-Rs got for silly money.

It's probably not even a turbo.

He still has yet to get back to me about the VIN number and his phone number.

Best to post in here for the moment. This is my van, as some of you have seen before. Currently sanding down the paint to weld over all the rust bites and primer her again. I'll be starting a restoration progress topic in here soon, since it'll be good to get some ideas from others regarding proposed content in the back. cool.gif No mention of hot tubs please, everyone has said that at least 5 times already.
