@JAJ, I'm not sure if you're aware of, but the last 2 links have the same missions done and the same completion percentage according to the posts. i'd just thought i'd bring thid to your attention. I also wanted to check on this before I called a turn.

i think JAJ carried on from my post, most prob'ly since girishb_86 forgot to change the ID...though the latter's turn should've counted, we'll continue from the last link, since that has more stuff done in it...

I don't understand this changing ID stuff.....

I am using the V2 files - main.scm & script.img.
Do I still need to convert my save???
I have never converted my saves in any of the V2 chain games that I have played. I dunno what seems to be the problem here!!!

in short: yes, you do. --> link to conversion tool <--

if your original game is v1 and you just changed the scripts to v2, then you'll have to convert the savegame. otherwise someone who plays an original v2 game can't load the game.

if you don't convert and the next player after you also plays with v1 + exchanged scripts, then it might work and possibly that's the reason why no one has noticed before...

@girishb_86: my apologies, I should have seen your post & carried on with it. Players with V1 must have followed your turns, it's kinda funny how there's not been a problem with the unconverted save 'til now.

I also think that girishb_86 should be able to take a turn without consideration of the 3-turn wait rule because by the above ruling (by crazyanurag) girishb_86's turn was skipped. In other words, the 3-turn rule is waived for girishb_86 until after his next turn.

I know I've occasionally forgotten to convert a save & it's easy to forget. The conversion tool can be used by players with V1 or V2, it's a clever program that will convert it so that a V2 player can use it. So, if a player forgets to convert, anyone can convert it & repost the save.

I'm tryin' to do what's fair for all & continue with the game. Please let me know if there's anything that I've missed or done wrong & I/we will work to correct it. I will wait at least another 6 hours before I take another turn...

Also:

It's been more than 6 hours since the last turn was completed. The 3-mission rule has been reset, and anyone may now call a turn.

i think that's a fair call and girishb_86 should be allowed to take a turn out of the 3 mission wait, or alternatively, he could instead do a 'dpuble-turn', completing 2 'named' missions, instead of one...but that's upto him...

i decided to stick with your save, because i thought radioman was going to take a turn, and was waiting only for some sort of communication/clarification...because i didn't want the progress of the game hindered, i took the call at the time...

anyhow, to forget to convert the save isn't a biggie, so take t easy, mate

@everyone playing: we'd like to urge and encourage everyone to keep (and use) the ID Converter mentioned in the first post, just for the sake of covenience...

if you set a bookmark to the chain game (or any other topic) you can add the command &view=getlastpost to the url (you'll probably have to edit the bookmark manually). this way page breaks are harder to miss. (yesyes, I'm a 'sinner' too... )
