Nice Job! BTW, at the movie studio, around the back, there is a set of the Times Square look-alike from GTA 3. Also, during the day, take a boat and go far out into the ocean, as far as you can go before the game turns you around, take out a sniper rifle, and zoom in to the ocean. There will be sailboats and battleships crossing the waters. Claude94

Question: this is the new official Secrets topic, and so it's ok to repost stuff from the old one, right? Because I've got a sh*tload of quality easter egg screenshots just collecting dust on my drive, and I'd welcome the opportunity to post them here. Of course all of them have been found before. Even that Bela Lugosi photo, I really thought I was the 1st one to notice it but then I found an older post by glenster. | QUOTE (gta_talk) | | QUOTE (Claude94) | Also, during the day, take a boat and go far out into the ocean, as far as you can go before the game turns you around, take out a sniper rifle, and zoom in to the ocean. I didn't know that one, either. But it's true. They are actually just faint, jagged silhouettes of ships:

@gta_talk - 2 technical notes: 1/ The images on this page are over 10 MB. Modem users must be freaking out. I'd really suggest to replace them with links or thumbnails. 2/ I've got a complete guide to the things that appear at your hideouts during the game (hockey mask, boomshine etc.) in the Pinned Guides and Walkthroughs topic of the VC Gameplay forum. There isn't much point having them here too. Of course that's up to you to decide. Okay, on to the eggs: Rony & GorbyThis picture is hidden behind the northern wall of downtown Ammu-Nation. To see it, use either a trainer with jetpack feature, or the "Rocket launcher through wall" trick. Here is an enlargement of the texture. (In case somene uneducated is reading this: The guy next to Reagan is Mikhail Gorbachev, his soviet counterpart back then.) Iron MaidenThere are several references to Iron Maiden in the game. No wonder, as it takes place in the golden years of classic heavy metal. 1/ The text on Lovefist billboard is in a font based on the IM logo. 2/ The ad in the record shop in North Point mall advertizes a Love Fist album called "Number of the breast". This is a spoof of the IM album "Number of the beast" (1982), a joke as old as the album itself. 3/ Poster in the display window of the downtown record shop (called Rock city, where you meet the Psycho killer). It's a spoof of this IM poster. "Jock star" is a spoof of Rockstar, obviously. This post has been edited by Konstantinos on Sunday, May 6 2007, 23:04

Robert De Niro starred as John "Johnny Boy" Civello in "Mean Streets," 1973, and as Travis ("You talkin' to me?") Bickle (as Robert DeNiro) in "Taxi Driver," 1976, earlier than "Goodfellas," 1990, for director Martin Scorsese. "GTA III" has Mean Streets Taxis, which is advertised on benches in "Vice City"--you can see one of the benches during the intro. In Little Havana, there's a "Mean Street Taxis" building; the window of the "Pizza Face" place beside it says "DINERO WITHOUT LIMITE," which is Spanish for "money without limits." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqLyTdcMLhc http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mean_Streets http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taxi_Driver Ryton Aide in Little Haiti in "Vice City" advertises Martin's Sciateze Back Tablets. http://img45.imageshack.us/img45/9837/00gt...reenvc46ri0.jpg In "Scarface," 1983, Tony Montana fails to impress Elvira Hancock (Michelle Pfeiffer) with a pale yellow Cadillac with fins and a zebra skin interior. The rewards for dropping off 100 fares with a cab in "Vice City" include the Zebra Cab, which is a combined Al Pacino and Robert De Niro reference, but I wouldn't try to impress Michelle Pfeiffer with it. Thanks to reader Jeff Sims who sent me his theory that the Zebra Cab is a ref- erence to a taxi company called Tiger Cabs, a front for a drug running (and oth- er criminal business) outfit in Miami, in the book "American Tabloid" by James Ellroy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Tabloid (The other GTA reference to "Zebra" is the Zebra Bar, a reference to inter- racial sex, in "San Andeas." So it may be a sex pun-related way to come up with an alternative name for Tiger Cabs.) Fort Baxter may be named after the Fort Baxter in the 1950's TV comedy "Sgt. Bilko" that starred Phil Silvers. Rockstar North is based in Scotland, and "Sgt. Bilko" is as popular on TV in Great Britain as "The Honeymooners" is here in the United States. I don't know why "Sgt. Bilko" isn't more popular here--I thought it was pretty good in the reruns I saw. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Phil_Silvers_Show http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phil_Silvers PS: thanks to Konstantinos for a few Iron Maiden tips. I'll just add that the skeleton playing guitar is the Iron Maiden mascot "Eddie the Head" used for most of the Iron Maiden album covers and which Couzin Ed and Lazlow talk about on VROCK. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_the_Head This post has been edited by glenster on Sunday, May 13 2007, 09:53

"It's a puppy!" Good research work as always, glenster. Adding to the subject of movie references: Godfather II"Hyman memorial stadium" may be named after the character of Hyman Roth, the Florida-based jewish gangster from Godfather II. Roth himself was based on the real life famous gangster, Meyer Lansky. Carlito's WayKen Rosenberg is clearly based on David Kleinfeld from Carlito's way, played by Sean Penn: Apart from the obvious similarities in appearance, they are both jewish lawyers working for gangsters, addicted to cocaine. Even Rosenberg's office is modelled after Kleinfeld's. Interestingly enough, the cast of Carlito's way includes Luis Guzman, who voices Ricardo Diaz in VC. This is one I found and discussed on here long before even SA was released so it's probably lost on these forums by now. There is a connection between Romero's funeral home and the famous zombie film master George Romero, who wrote the Living Dead films, Night, Dawn, Day and Land of the Dead. In these films, zombies eat human flesh and if you look around Romero's funeral home, there is a Romero butcher shop right next door that serves human organs, the food of choice for a growing zombie. We can guess that these organs come from the funeral home next door, also owner by Mr. Romero.
