Lancet Jades (Johnny) recently shared some tricks on how to get to the 2nd island (PS2), all of which I think are new. Here are portions of his email to me: | QUOTE | 1. Get the hydraulics for Taxis, then jump a Cabbie or Taxi between the east bridge off Starfish Island and the lone tree south of it (on Diaz's property). Jump parallel to the bridge, and bail out. If you're lucky, the game should semi-glitch, and you'll end up in the ped walkway of the bridge. Then just walk to the 2nd island. A very hit or miss method, but works.
2. Get a Yankee and back it up to that spot (between the tree and the bridge). Try to get the right-hand wheels right next to the bridge structure. When you get out, it'll sort of glitch and tilt, with the right side pointing up. Get on top of it, and do a running jump. The altitude this tilt gives you is sufficient to barely jump over the invisilbe wall that stretches up. The tilt is critical. Without it, you just can't make it. Again, hit or miss, because getting the Yankee backed up far enough, and with the tilt, without it falling off the land mass, is difficult.
With 1 and 2, there's a way to rescue yourself if you fail and fall in the water. If it's raining in the game, the swells of the ocean are enough to give you enough height to jump up on the land to the north of the bridge, but ONLY if its stormy. Calm waters make it a graveyard. The alternative is to swim southwest. The border of Diaz's propety has lots of right angles, with a sloped stone wall leading down to the ocean. Go to the southern-most eastern corner, and you'll find one part of the wall that you can actually run up. Doing this, you can often find another Taxi or Yankee on the streets of Starfish, allowing for another attempt rather quickly. If you need more stamina, just try and climb any other portion of the stone wall. You'll run along it (but not up), which isn't much, but allows you to recover stamina, enough to make it the rest of the way.
3. This resembles LCS' trick, but infinitely less bothersome, and much easier. Know that dirt mound with a police bribe at the top pointing west, near Escobar's main terminal building (it's a bit southwest of it)? Beyond that mound, there's a pipe in the ground. The trick is to jump on the pipe from the top of the mound. Sometimes, when you do this, it teleports you into Leaf Links, which allows access to the east island. This is even more hit or miss than 1 and 2, but the recoil time for a failed attempt is about 2-3 seconds, making it the easiest and most time-effective means of access. |
#3 is particularly interesting. Sounds easy and less hassle.

This trick will take some health away but not much.

Gee, thanks Win98 i finally get an answer to a question i asked last month, and now that the second Island has opened for me, it's too darn late to know P.S. I doubt * tested much, cause "They*" know how many morons there are on this planet(and others) that will buy any crap as soon as it comes on the market, especially if it's the moron parents who's dishing out the $$ If i had kids, i would only buy them Educational games, math, geography, History, etc.. not this kind of **** Kids need to be Educated more, not play violent games, listen to rap crap and or behave like gangsters wannabe's. Moron parents, bring up moron kids and moron kids, think that acting like a moron is cool NOT!! This post has been edited by bits&pieces on Apr 1 2007, 15:17
