WTF is that massive thing over the CPU and RAM

Whatever it is, any chance you can give a review of it...possibly comparing it to some kind of standard HSF

Same here, very nice looking place. That is one of the most beautiful builds i have seen. Very clean and everything matches up nicely. And you even got a coolerfans for RAM. Very nice, wish i had something like that.

It's an optional fan module that came with my RAM (Corsair Dominators). Clamps onto the RAM socket like so:

Doubt that I actually need it, but the fans are very silent, and it looked kinda cool after I removed the stickers. smile.gif

It does look better without the stickers of in your system. I like the grey/black and blue scheme and it looks very neat smile.gif

How's the metal clips on those ram coolers?
I remember building a few machines that includes them with the ram kits and the clamps uses a spring like action. It was too resistant and
and when ever I install it, I always felt it's going to crush the ram sticks as well as plastic clips on the ram slots.
Those clamps almost have the same force as a mouse trap.
Also with Asus one side ram installation them ram coolers won't work anymore.

Thanks to Steam and their sales (as well as other retail places dropping the price on PC games) my collection only gets bigger of games I have yet to play.

Oh it's 2 separate pieces. From that angle it looks like they could be together.
Then what is the cooler over the CPU?

@Vextroid
Seriously, you have all of that installed? Why? As you said you have yet to play most of them, from the sound of it.
I've got about 30-40 games in Steam I have yet to play and about 10-20 physical games in the same boat. But I only install 1 at a time, play it, delete it, install the next one.
Having that much "crap" on your drive can slow down your system because the drive has to scan over everything to get to the thing it really needs. If you want to me to explain that better I can.

Yes I have that many installed. Why? Because I can.

Games are installed on a separate 2GB HDD (see sig) from the OS. So my system never has any slowdowns (other that trying to run games more then the GPU can handle ofcourse tounge.gif ).

It's the Prolimatech Samuel 17 with an optional 140mm Alpenföhn fan.

Identical to the one I used in the system I built for my sis:

I took a pic in which I was temped for a long time, here, way back when, some remember.
Posted a collection of all my PCs I had been storing, however, not even all of them were in that picture, I was told DESKTOP meant the actual VIRTUAL one, not internal pictures of your computer, or computers' external cases. How come you guys are doing that here? Make a new thread to show the hardware,
Here's an actual desktop of mine, I finally became a little less lazy to screen cap one. When I'm using my ACER formatted to Vista Ultimate, 32bit, this is the one!

user posted image

Also to note, the BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH had plagued it, so when that was reformatted and re-registered effectively with MS, I used a Bich Supreme for my wallpaper, so it does keep changing here and there, when I get bored.
the drive is 242GBs, effective space IIRC

I shrunk it to 70 percent smaller, and the below image 75% smaller
I capped this first to show PREVX CSI at work, it updates as mandatory if you let it slide months at a time, and pesters you for an online checkup

I drop and drag icons around the images, everytime, all the time, I did use the built in Icon Sort when you right click, if the space allows.
The problem with the clean up is more to do with the additional files and how the Registry recovered since the KSOD situation

Well when I built this computer a couple of weeks ago I had originally intended on powering a 32" screen flanked by two 19" screens, my wife's employer was to supply the monitors - that fell through. So yesterday my 23" 16x9 monitor came in the mail, and I'm running a single 19" 4x3 monitor supplied by said employer to the left of it. We should be getting another monitor from them, but it could take a little time. The black bar above the left desktop is only visible in the screenshot.

**Image removed, I'll post a new desktop when I have some time later***

I've re-coded the rainmeter skin "SimpleMeter v1.0.2" to include more information via the OpenHardwareMonitor plugin. I also stole the background from another skin, eventually I'm going to create a nicer looking transparent background - this is just a working model.

EDIT: For some reason the images have all kinds of artifacts, anyone know of an image hosting site that will host 3200x1080 files without f*cking them up?

Auld Reekie, looks nice in that pic.

Anywhoo, I can't seem to see anything about compression factors mentioned on this site but it does allow very large files sizes, so by that very loose logic then you should be able to store the full uncompressed image... well most of my *ahem* content has come from there and that looks fine.

Good couple months with the PC I built, finally decided to change my wallpaper since the brightness was getting annoying sometimes. So I switched to black. How do you guys get even more stuff on the desktop for Win7 though? All I found was weather and CPU monitor.
