Please forgive my pedantry, but that isn't melodic death metal by any stretch of the imagination.
That's melodeath.
Yeh, I like In Flames pretty okay. (well, everything before Clayman at least).
Also, that lineup looks like complete ass. I'd go for Sabbath and Turbonegro (cuz they're so fun), but yeah. Snoozefest 2000. I didn't realize most of those bands were still around. Trivium? As I Lay Dying? Shadows Fall? Holy f*ck, hello 2004.
I'd go for Soundgarden too. f*ck I wanna see them again really bad. And f*ck, these 8 days need to go by so Matt Pike can kill me with riffs.

They're airing all of the EVOLUTION of METAL series, seemingly, back to back, from beginning to end, watching it now, loving it! I know most of the origins of Metal, I lived the life! hahaha

Really? Those three bands you mention I couldn't give a crap about. I saw Trivial a while back, they weren't even as good as their support (Chimaira). Constantly f*cking off to change guitars every two songs... was pretty lame.
Sabbath, Opeth, Megadeth, Lamb of God, Machine Head, Devildriver, Periphery, Anthrax, Killswitch Engage, Dropkick Murphys, Cancer Bats. Even random fun stuff like The D, Steel Panther, Terrorvision and Ghost (Ghost!). You're telling me there's not enough there to please fans of metal? There's everything from the very oldie of the golden oldies to young whippersnappers and bands in their peak in between. Pfft.
Well to be honest I'm going for the bewbs and the booze. And the tan. Hopefully this heatwave will last another week

I've been listening to a lot of post-metal/sludge...what ever you want to call this stuff. Primitive Weapons, Generation of Vipers, Whores, Steak Number Eight. Really liking the groove some of these bands have.
The Bridge is an amazing, amazing record, if you like Pelican or Black Tusk, I recommend you check ĘGES out. I dare you.

ĘGES is good stuff, saw them last summer. Holy f*ckstick Sleep was incredible last night, just incredible. Did most of Holy Mountain and about the last half of Dopesmoker. f*ck it killed. And sorry Moon, no posters to speak of at the merch booth.
Sounds like sound. What's going on with your other project?
Picked up Old Man Gloom's "NO" to satiate my appetite for sludge/post metal stuff I've been listening to lately. Great stuff, they've brought their A game.
As for Grey Host, we're doing the final mix and getting ready to print. The biggest problem with doing everything yourself is you get tied up with work and stuff, and your own stuff gets put on the backburner. But at least it saves us moneies.
Also, new Agalloch. It sounds good, but I'm not sure if it quite sounds like Agalloch.

Earl Root's legacy radio show ended up just now, 6AM, but fear not, as mentioned before, it streams to your ears and face from Cyberspace at KFAI dot ORG, check it or be a wimp the rest of your life, but it's TRUE METAL NIRVANA!
Some 2012 SACRIFICE I found, Really cool band

I'm actually shooting for Agalloch on the 19th. Pretty stoked. Perhaps I'll share a few after the shoot. I haven't had time to listen to the new song yet, but what you and many others have said is that it is indeed good, so I'll have to get around to that.
And I didn't do the typical setting off fireworks, time with family and friends like-sh*t people usually do on the 4th. No, instead I went to see Iron Maiden. First time. f*cking awesome.
They played all but one song from "Seventh Son", (only the good die young?) and a whole bunch of pre-90's Maiden classics. I can't believe how energetic the band still is. There's something to be said about Bruce's vocals as well, dude still has an amazing set of lungs on him and he sounds better live. The whole stage show lived up to the expectations. Such an awesome night.
I also applaud them for playing in this brutal f*cking weather we've been having lately. 102 degrees, plus lights, pyros and running around. Sheesh.
So I did the Agalloch gig last week and all went as planned.
The set was absolutely killer, they even played "Faustian Echoes" which I caved in and bought after the show. An even better surprise was the doom band that opened for them called Taurus. They f*cking killed it, such a great supporting band. Check them out.
Here's a few pictures from the night as promised. Sorry for the size, they shouldn't stretch the page, but I haven't resized them because I typicall don't post my photo's on forums, so I can't be bothered to do so.
Awesome shots, though your signature is pretty distracting - at least the white is super contrasty and draws my eyes.
On a somewhat related note, have you guys checked out Agalloch's drummer's (Aesop Dekker) blog? He's got a huge f*cking catalogue of weird, obscure, and excellent musics. http://cosmichearse.blogspot.com/
