1. Yes it means custom firmwares.

2. You can downgrade CFW. If you don't have custom firmware you will not be able to play with CD. If you have a lower version you will miss out on some of the games/features of higher CFW versions.

Was there really any need to double post? Anyway, you need to have a pandora's battery, or a battery toolkit, which requires a PSP 1000/2000 model, and a magic memory stick. That will give you 3.71m33, and then just download devhook, and emulate FW 2.6. Easy huh?

It would be possible to make the savefile version compatible with newer firmwares, but not the prx.

well 5.00m33-6 lets you use the cheat device and for gta vcs you have to be at 3.71m33

There's no such thing as unhackable. Someone will EVENTUALLY make a cheat device (even if it's not the "CheatDevice" brand of cheat device) that WILL work with the new firmware.

Yeah and ps vita won't work through new version. So if you are like me and got ps3 and vita but downloaded new version of ps3 update then they wont work together.
