I only consider one of those remotely interesting. The CGT must be a rare sight, there can't be many in the UK that aren't in collections.

Here's something unique for you guys. Spotted this in a transmission shop today.

Brand new COPO Camaro. It's a f*cking factory drag car, first one since '69. They're all numbered and this one is 003 - the first is going to the GM museum and the second is promised to Rick Hendrick.

That's a '69 350 Malibu in the background, BTW. Sorry for the quality, these are from my phone.

No, they're actually doing around 9 on the 1/4 mile. This one ran 8.88 - here's an article http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2012/08/chevr...es-quarter.html

@Lurch - I know it's a 327, but I can't remember what blower's in there. There's 3 engine options, a 427 and two 327s - one with a 2.9L blower and one with a 4.0L blower. Here's a vid on it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f03RM5i3cDs

To be fair, it's a factory drag car with a straight axle, a locker, slicks, double rate coilovers, absolutely gutted interior, and a ton of power. It's not the least bit street legal.

Still, the body is all original, or so at seems. In my country cars that drive that fast have at least 1000HP and nothing original, the body is just fiberglass over scaffolding(rollcage) and drag tyres, also completelly rebuilt axles. This even has lights and a front grill. I don't even think it has plastic bodypanels. Or maybe it does...someone who knows better could tell me. And the interior doesn't seem that gutter at all.

Also, that's gotta be the 4.0L in the one I posted. I'm not much of a car guy though. tounge.gif

9 seconds for a non-road-legal drag car isn't that impressive, even if its a factory effort. There are 4-pot cars doing sub-9 quarters that are road legal save for running slicks on the strip.

Holy mother of god, those cars must have helluva lots of mods on them then!

I know that a BMW Z3 M Coupe with twin turbos (producing around 600bhp) struggles to get it in 10 second territory, but road legal 4 cylinder engines hitting it at 9 seconds? Wow, are they Imprezas/EVOs/S2000?

There's a road-legal BMW 2002 with an S14 2.5 motor and twin IHI turbos that was pulling mid-high 8-second quarters with 12" drag boots and ~750bhp. As for a twin turbo Z3M, on proper (I mean foot-plus-wide) drag slicks you'd probably drop the best part of half a second- at the very least, perhaps as much as a second- over road legal semi-slicks.

I'm thinking that Camaro is pretty regulated by the rules of whichever NHRA class they run. Don't think those tires are really near as wide as what they could be.

Just a few photos of cars I have seen recently from Miami, Manhattan and Connecticut.

I saw this Ferrari 355 Spider on the West side of Manhattan. Sorry about the quality of the shot. When I saw it driving towards me I scrambled to get a shot of it and my camera was off and the lens cap was on. ha

I spotted the following two, along with an umpteen number of classic cars outside of hotels and restaurants, in South Beach.

Lamborghini LP560-4 Spyder

Dodge Viper RT10

I spotted this Nissan GT-R in Connecticut. I've seen a number of GT-Rs before, but this was the first chance I had to get a picture of one while parked. It's easily my favorite car currently.

Those wheels are pretty nasty. They look like they were carved from pie dishes and really don't suit the car at all.

Nah...you are wrong. At least those are not some extra chrome shiny bling bling wheels. Those seem quite nice and quite simple, and suit this car well. I agree, that those are not the best looking rims, but they do suit this car.
