Saw a Rally Version of the Renault 5 Turbo, had the rally stickers and everything. Really wish I woulda stopped downtown and got a picture of it! Also found this at a dealership:



It's been great outside, and this Cavalier was on sale for a whopping $1000. No rips in the top, stick, and only had about 110k miles on it. So tempting...

That'll be the Renault 5 Turbo. The pansy production version is called the GT Turbo.

I don't think we really got 5 turbos here. Either it's a grey market import (not the most likely but certainly not impossible) or it's just a normal fwd Le Car with a bodykit, wheel spacers, and vinyl on it (more likely).

Must have been a Le Car then, because I highly doubt the guy driving it was the type to do a grey market type of import.

Why would anyone be debadging a car as rare as a CSI (like 1500 made). I could see it being a more common 850i or 850ci.


Most CSI's I see online usually have M-Parr's or Throwing Stars, even a few with staggered Style 5's. Those look to have uglier, cheaper E65 wheels on it. Does not add up.

I don't know about the States, but in Europe the M-Sport kit, which this E31 has, was available only with the 840ci as an option and 850csi as standard.

850i had the normal body without any optional M-Sport goodies.

I am positive about the M-sport kit on a E31 850i in switzerland.


And all (rare) CSIs were sold with M-parallels.

Using old caddy as wedding limo is bit cliche, but having '61 Deville in that condition will never be.
