They are not PS2 pics in the Official Playstation Magazine, they are PSP. As I said earlier just things they wish and hope are in the PS2 version.

QUOTE (Nobuyoshi2 @ Feb 7 2006, 20:08)
sounds like bullsh*t to me because by now some one would of bought the magazine, scanned it, uploaded the pictures and posted them. I checked the other gta forums and also checked google but there is no mention of this anywhere so it's most likely bullsh*t  icon13.gif

No i was not Bullsh*tting. The article was described as having first pics and info. The magazine was PSW and the reason I didnt buy it was because it wasnt splashed across the front cover, therefore I assumed that it would been given a sh*tty little half page feature article. I also thought somebody in the forum would have bought it and stuck it on t'net, obviously I was wrong.

My scanners f*cked anyway.

I got PSW today, there are PS2 pics of LCS, but they are nothing special, just some familiar shots, like Toni with a gun, drive by pic, etc. No details of info, just things they would like in the game.

I could scan the pics if they are really wanted but as I say they are nothing special.

On second thought, may aswell post them biggrin.gif -

There are a few more but they are on the fold of the magazine.

Ok yeah I just found out that PSW uses the screens that was given to magazines and online websites during the pre-game of LCS on the PSP. So could you rather give us the info that's written in the article?

This is the article from PSW magazine -

PS2 LIBERATED!

Ready yourself for another PS2-based trip to Liberty City.

Rockstar has announced that a PS2 version of LCS is in the works and will be released later this year. While it’s not quite the pants-dampening GTA news we were hoping for, we’ll bank on the game proving to be more than a mere stopgap title to keep us amused until news of a next-gen step forward for the series emerges. After all, the PSP version wasn’t just a bite-sized complement to the previous PS2 games; it was great in its own right and moving it to PS2 will only improve the experience. What we’ll likely get is a buffed-up version of the game with new features included to bring it more into line with the previous three PS2 versions. So, what can we expect to see on our third visit to Liberty City? Well, the few complaints that were levelled at LCS were to do with the compromises it had to make due to the limitations of the PSP. The main grumbles concerned multiple button presses to control the camera, no planes or helicopters and a smaller overall map compared to the epic San Andreas. Expect all of this to be addressed by the genius game makers at Rockstar North. Bigger maps, new missions and even new characters are in the works. Music has always been an important feature in GTA games, and while the soundtrack to LCS was impressive, it wasn’t huge. With more space to play with on PS2, that’ll change, and we should see a track list at least as lengthy as those of the previous non-portable GTA games. Also, loading times will probably cease to exist and free-flowing driving between districts is a given. That’s just for starters. It’ll be interesting to see exactly what Rockstar does to surprise us and keep the series fresh. New vehicles, a new plot or new weapons? We’ll have more exclusive screens and footage next month as well as news on those ‘surprise’ extras Rockstar are so good at.

Thanks Dave, it's good to finally see what all the fuss was about.

It's all pure speculation obviously. I think that's all we can expect for at least another month. With absolutely no info to go on the magazines are just trying to increase the hype around the game so that when they do get proper news, they'll slap it all across the cover so that the expectant fans will rush out and buy it.

I'm very eager to see how R* releases this title because it seems...

A - they can't release exactly as it was on PSP without severely reducing the price or releasing it as an expansion pack to GTA3.

B - The can't just add all the SA features because it would put it on a similar level with SA and the small map and restrictions would make it look like a downstep in comparison to SA.

C - If they completely overhaul it by making the missions longer, more interiors, customisable clothes and hair and much bigger playing area without load screens so it is equal to SA, then it would just seem a weird thing for the "trilogy" to do. It doesn't seem that it was part of the plan. Are they going to do that for all PSP GTA games?

I'm interested to see how they tackle this.

m... yeah that article sucked. Someone should inform them that only R* leeds is working on the PS2 version of LCS. Guess it all goes down next month. I think they're going to release it shortly after E3.
