It's pretty ironic, and sad how I'm so unlucky.

you can't project your personality and your inhibitions or beliefs onto someone else.

the OP has this whole issue twisted.
mainstream/legal pornography does not objectify women or make a commodity out of sex anymore than both of these things already were!
women have always been objectified to a degree (as have men, just not as often) no matter who they were or what period of history they lived in. in fact, many women still objectify themselves on purpose for all sorts of reasons; not just for porn.

the world is too big and too diverse for anyone to go around judging how anybody else wants to live their life (assuming that how you want to live doesn't harm other people or infringe upon their own freedom). I'm sure there are plenty of people who also feel like porn is degrading or embarrassing, but just the same there are plenty of people (men and women) who choose to consume or even create porn because (in their mind) it is liberating or empowering or simply fun.
