| QUOTE (pdescobar @ Dec 16 2005, 08:28) | | OK, I PMed the link to mikeswi. I suggested he convert a handful of his v2 files and then we'll have MastaCheefa or another helpful v2 person test them. If that works as well, mike can convert them all and I'll release the program for general SnP use. | pdescobar, could you PM me the link too? I got a guy in Mission Help asking for help on a version 2 game and I could test out if your method works for real or not.- FiJiAn 4 LiFe

| QUOTE (MastaCheefa @ Dec 16 2005, 17:19) | All 4 worked flawlessly. Did you create a save place for some of those? Like the third one you start out UNDER the map in the water. |
You start out under the map? I don't know if I'd call that "flawless" but since they are all loading and playable it's certainly an improvement so I think mike can go ahead and convert them all. Thanks for testing MastaCheefa.

| QUOTE (MastaCheefa @ Dec 17 2005, 09:03) | | I should of explained that better. There is a "savedisk icon" on the radar/map thingy where you start out. I thought someone might of added that somehow. But yea it does appear to be under the map and in the water. Kinda weird. | Yeah that sometimes happens to me too. It is when the surroundings don't load properly and takes sometime, it looks like CJ is standing on water only.
Anyways, good to hear that all the save are finally compatible with v2 games.- FiJiAn 4 LiFe

| QUOTE (MastaCheefa @ Dec 17 2005, 01:12) | | Well, not really sure about the 3rd one. The other 3 worked perfect. At first I thought the 3rd one had been "haxed up/modded" and it was suppose to spawn you like that as kind of a fun way to look at the map. But appearently not. So...all but the 3rd one work fine. | I assume that by the third one you mean http://www.mikehealan.com/gta/v2_mission_saves/60test.zip
Can you post a screenshot or two showing what's up with that one on v2? And can someone load it in v1 with the v2 scripts and see if it's ok there?

Wow. That is pretty screwy. Had you quit the game between the first (working) reload and the screwy ones? If not, see if quitting the game and loading that as the first thing works a couple times. Also, on the screwy one, can you swim out into the "open" sea and then get back on land and play normally? And if you can play normally after doing that, can you save back at that icon and reload normally?
I'm concerned about this, but if it's simply a nuisance starting position and/or it can be worked around by loading from a fresh game launch then the save'll still be useful.

| QUOTE (MastaCheefa @ Dec 17 2005, 15:30) | | It seems that if you load the 3rd save first, everything will be ok. And you can repeatedly load that save without errors. But, if you load a diff save then go back and load the 3rd save, that appears to be where the problems start. This time when I tried to recreate the error, loading the 3rd then loading the 2nd then back to the 3rd, GTA just plain crashed. |
OK. Not sure what the deal is there (could be something odd with the save, could be something odd with the whole script-switch process, could be some bug in the v2 exe, etc.) but if it works when loading that save first then we'll have to be satisfied. It's certainly better than the unconverted save which forced a new game.
@mikeswi: I'd say go ahead and convert 'em all. This was the only problem out of 6 conversions (4 of yours and 2 SnPs) and it's not a fatal problem so I'm confident that the process is generally workable. You may want to consider putting a disclaimer on the v2 section that these are converted v1 saves and they could have some minor problems; that's up to you.

| QUOTE (Shof @ Dec 22 2005, 20:11) | | Does anyone have an updated 100% game file. pdescobar i will ike to say thank you. I've been trying out all your files and they all work on my ver 2 game without a problem..Now al i need is a 100% file |
Just to make sure proper credit is given; mikeswi did all the hard work in creating those saves. I just figured out how to tweak them so they'd load up properly in v2 which was actually quite easy in comparison to what mike did.
As for a 100% v2 save, I'm not aware of any posted here, but you can check to see if any of the saves posted on gtagarage are version 2.
| QUOTE (Shof @ continued) | Just for the record,I loaded up the same file(60test). And this is what i got:

I am using onboard graphics,so i think the problem you are having as seen in your screenshot is maybe threre is a problem with your drivers of your video card or slow computer? | Good to see the problems MastaCheefa was having with that save aren't common although it was certainly more than a graphics issue based upon what I saw...

| QUOTE (cowgomoo @ Dec 22 2005, 22:07) | | Thanks pdescobar! I just got GTASA V2 Tuesday (12/20) night and these files work great. I am pretty pissed about the lack of modding available for this new version. I am sure it will only be a matter of time before someone cracks it. |
Glad they are working for you; as stated on the above reply though, make sure most of the props go to mikeswi.
