And since you more than likely didn't read my topic asking for help from v2 owners I'll repeat myself for about 20th time here.

Go to the Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas\data\script\
Zip that whole folder and upload it to yousendit.com or rapdishare.de
Post the link or PM it to me.


Why? Because I want to see if I can use those files on a v1 install and play v2 save games which will help out the increasing number of SNP v2 request.

If it works for me then we can assume the reverse would also be true and I'll zip my same folder which is v1 (not v1.01) and you play enjoy it.
If it doesn't work for me and you still want the files, fine but more than likely my files won't work for you.

Alrite I replaced my script (version 1) with this one (version 2) and loaded a version 2 save game. It worked for me. Can anyone else confirm that? If so, then version 1 script should work with version 2 and hopefully making it moddable.- FiJiAn 4 LiFe

I've got it downloaded, but I cannot confirm as of yet...too busy at the moment.
That is good to know that it worked for you.

Suggestion; go back to v1 files and play another v1 save. My slight fear is that something might change in the .SET file that could cause problems.

Alright I did that and I encountered no problems. The game loaded, I went on a rampage and then saved. Nothing out of the ordinary. Version 2 acts just like any major mod. You can replace the script files, play a game with that script and can revert to the original scripts without any problems.- FiJiAn 4 LiFe

100% confirmed
v2 main.scm and script.img with a v1.x install does infact work just find and allows you to play a v2 save game, then to switch back with no problem.

Here is my v1 main.scm and script.img as promissed for you v2 guys to try and see if it works in reverse.

Now if memory serves me correctly, the exe change in v1.01 is what makes it block the HC mod. I'm not sure if the exe or these files are what's blocking other mods, but atleast you're one step closer to finding out.

so if u using a v2 main.scm on v1 sa(without update to v1.01), then u can get those effect that v1.01 patch does?(like clearable car, etc.) and because u didnt change the .exe file, so u can using v1 nocd patch?

And I never said you would get the same "effects", I'm guessing you mean the 'car wash effect' {take a dirty car to the paint shop and it's clean}. I have no idea. I didn't try it and I don't care.
The point of this for me was sololy to be able to use the v2 main.scm on a v1 install and be able to play v2 save games. Nothing more.

Using ths v2 main.scm means you cannot play v1 save games with it.


If you're only worry with a v1 install is to able to clean the cars, then just get the 1.01 patch and don't worry about the v2 files.

yup, tried, v1 with v2's main.scm cant clean cars, so it must be another file that control the "clean car stuff".

Well ok guys I tried it out and heres the results

V1 scripts + v1 no-cd crack + mods in gta3.img = working with mods

V1 scripts + v2 exe + mods in gta3.img = not working with mods

So the problem lies in the gta_sa.exe for v2. Now you' think Id be happy with the first result but no. No-cd patch makes my game run 100% worse since the DVD somehow makes it magically run amazing, as it has been since I bought it.

But yea, the topic title is correct. 2.0 can be converted back to 1.0. Just without Hot Coffee (I tried just for results).

Thats the V2 exe, which seems to be the big problem. If anyone can see whats up with it.
Anyone try a V1.exe on a V2 game? One that actually requires the DVD?

Tried to start a new game with v2 exe using v2 scripts on a heavily modded gta3.img. It was a no-go.
Started a new game with v1 exe using v2 scripts on a heavily modded gta3.img. Started without any problems.
Loaded a v2 file with v1 exe using v2 scripts on a heavily modded gta3.img. No problems encountered.

So the problem lies with the v2 exe which makes the game unmoddable.

Awesome sh*t. This is nothing but good news.

So what I need (and every other V2 owner) to mod is simply a V1 exe then. Now to find one. Could anyone post one? Please? lol
