How about going back a step and explain "Homebrew" to some of us newbs who play what we get officially. I've yet to tamper with my GTA3 PC game in fact, I have worries about what will result, how to undo, how to implement successfully, etc. etc.

Do you just suggest other sites, search engines?
I haven't really had the time to do more then just play the various games biggrin.gif
Bill

You should know what homebrew is right? Well there are certain applications that let us gain advantage to using games or other things to download for free. There is an exploit that lets us downgrade our firmware version to 1.5, where homebrew was allowed. Apps like "UMD Emulator 0.8c" was the reason why sony kept making updates to keep piracy down. Well if you want to know a good site try www.pspupdates.com

There's a download to downgrade your firmware form 2.0 to 1.5 although 2.5 has yet to be cracked so theres not going back once you go 2.5, yet anyway.

EDIT: The game works with 2.0 or above.

which is good, because a lot(not all) homebrew apps work with 2.0 and the 0.7 eboot loader.

i am still trying to find a genesis emu that works with 2.0

You could put them on it, but you wouldnt be able to play them. There isnt a Playstation Emulator as of yet, to be honest, I have no idea how long till there will be one, if at all.

Think about it for a second, they are having enough trouble getting a Game Boy Emulator working on the PSP so its smooth enough to be playable, think how much harder it must be to get a Playstation working.

Uh, there's a fully-functioning GBC emulator for the PSP that works on both 1.5 and 2.0. It's existed for quite some time too. blink.gif I agree with you though, it'll either be ages or never until a PS1 emulator is released. There isn't even one for the PC yet, and the console is over a decade old.

Homebrew game trainers would be pretty damn nifty. Here's to hoping that some more exploits are found in the 2.0 firmware that will allow us to progress with something like this. Thanks for the info, edison smile.gif

Uhh there's loads of PS1 emulators of PC. I don't have a PSP, but if in the unlikely chance I get LCS and a PSP, I'll make sure if there's nothing that downgrades your firmware, I'll use 2.0.

Can you say Bleem!? btw there is a gba emulator that sorta works for psp and i think(though not sure) that the gba was more powerful than the ps1 so it could happen.

The gameboy advance is much less powerful than the ps1 its in a whole differnt generation of consoles the nintedo 64 and the ps1 are around the same.....youll notice if you play.....gran turismo 1 and 2 and twisted metal 1-4 and vigilantie 1 and 2 and some other cool games that the ghraphics look way much better on the playstation 1.......driver 2 was fun on the ps1 that was the main reason i started buying gta games......i own grand theft auto 3 i got that 2 day's after it came out. and i got vice city two months after that came out. then i preordered sanandreas so i got it 2 days after it came out. and i bought liberty city stories on the day it came out...........

game boy advance is a tiny bit better than the super nintendo

Will there be ANY way to put mods (homebrew) after you upgrade your PSP version higher than 2.0? Or is it possible to make/do later? Is it possible that Sony make it that in the next version update, you can put mods in it?

Maybe in the near future but atm once you go over 2.0 you can't go back and homebrew, trainers, etc won't work on your PSP. 2.0 was said to be unable to support homebrew but that's been cracked and now there's a growing list of homebrew apps that work on 2.0 PSPs.

There aren't any atm but in future yes, hopefully since there is a growing list of 2.0 compatible homebrew.
