Hello, everyone out there. I usually post on the GTA3 section, but I'm thinking of getting GTA Advance, as I am a die hard fan of GTA. I've heard a lot of complaints about the framerate. Can anyone estimate or give me an accurate answer as to how much framerate you'll get? Is the framerate better on the Game Boy Advance SP? I'm really worried about this issue... confused.gif whatsthat.gif

I didn't see a problem with the frame rate, no idea what it is, but it didn't bother me in the slightest

Not only does it get boring, but most of the time, the mission objectives are unclear or confusing, and you can't tell which pedestrian or person is which because they are so small. And most pedestrians that spawn are gang members which is no fun for killing innocents b/c when you kill a gang member, the whole gang will chase after you for a long time. Also, it is very easy to get busted; too easy. It is also easy to drive off into the water if you drive near the beach. But it is a lot cheaper than buying a PSP.

Listen...I wanted gta:advance as well.I know your position. You want gta on a system you already have.

But I brought it and it stinks.

If you liked GTA 1 or 2,dont get it.The framerate is horrible and it is boring straight-away.

Ask for a PSP and GTA LCS for your christmas or something if you hate the price.

NOOOOOOO!!! Don't talk like that! It seems like an excellent game! Please tell me a good point! I'm a die-hard fan of GTA, and all the freedom on a little system like the GBA: SP seems like someone has granted me my first wish. Come on, there must be something good about it! And boring straight away: come on, I think you're exaggerating a bit biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Okay, I will put it in a good light: The game quite different in the ending that all other GTA games. And I mean how the game finishes at the last mission: it ends the game after a cut scene and thats it! You can't keep playing after that mission is complete. The framerate can bottom at about what I guess to be 3 FPS during rather intense action. But is tolerable after that. The codes are fun, espically the mission select code. GBA regular, SP, or Micro won't matter since they are all the same processor. The street races seem rather exciting for being on such a small screen but can be frustrating due to the minimal vision ahead of your vheicle. My friends perfer to just kill people over the missions. If you wnat to brag that you have it all when it comes to GTA, get it. It is much better than the GBC earlier versions attempting to put GTA on a portable.

Seen my sig yet? I'm kinda used to that sort of framerate because of GTA3. tounge.gif tounge.gif tounge.gif But you're the first person to give me a proper FPS answer (and I've asked around; not just in GTAForums). Have a cookie.gif! tounge.gif

What! You can't keep playing after the last mission? TO THAT I SAY ARSE! Oh well. At least you're given plenty of time to do everything else.

What do you reckon the average FPS is when you're just driving a car?

Thanks for your help. Is there any way that you can get a port for PC?

When I play the game on my Nintendo DS I get around 10 fps, its good but if you look closely it can feel choopy when you do sudden movements that require more processing. I don't know about a port to the PC but it operates like GTA1 on a somewhat RAM-strained PC. Mainly the slowdowns are during collisions and during intense shooting with several bullet objects on the screen. But as a whole operates smoothly and the loading times from island to island takes about 1 second. I think some people think that during collisions the framerate is dropping, but it is only the visual effect of poor physics when the cars stop moving then move outwards, kinda funny to watch.

So the FPS is identical to GTA1 on the PSX? That's pretty appaling if it's true! But I guess it's not that bad. Would the FPS be worse on a GBA:SP?

You're really helpful (and I'm not being sarcastic)! smile.gif

I'm going to Sydney on the Christmas Holidays, and as my search failed here in Cairns, QLD, I'll probably find it there, second-hand or new. Either way... I WANT IT!

No, the FPS is good most of the time but can get choppy.
Probably not, SP should be fine.

I was in your exact position.

I wanted GTA on my already-brought GBA SP and loved the idea of a portable, small GTA for long car trips and even at home.

But when you buy it,it is nothing like GTA 1,2 or London. It is realy easy to get busted or dead, and no targeting.Im not even thinking of buying a PSP.

LCS did not win me over,GTA Advance made me hate it.See the pinned 'Worth getting it' topic to see all my pathetic posts about trying to find the good in an otherwise slow, ugly and linear game.

Sorry if i am a bit harsh, but when I got the bad treatment i finally saw the bigger light...

FITNESS!!!

[p.s,dont buy it,rent it then see if you like it smile.gif ]
