Many people have found that missions hard, thus The Untouchable made a guide: Supply Lines

Ironically by the time I tried to search the net and look for a guide/walkthrough for the mission, I had already developed my method for it--exactly the same as the guide! (after about 15 tries or so) so I was disappointed that the guide couldn't help me, telling me to do what I was already doing and all. what made the diference for me was just pure practice with that plane. Took me about 20+ tries.

I think the key to this mission is not using the power key/button all the time; gliding most of the way, and using the yaw controls instead of banking to turn.

Wow I SERIOUSLY don't know why so many people are complaining about this mission.

Not to boast, but I beat it in just one easy-going try. What's so hard about it? It was actually pretty fun. I got back with still a bit of fuel even. My only worry was that I got shot so many times and I flew into buildings alot and I thought I'd blow up, but I didn't.

Seriously, it is a tricky mission that requires a lot of hand-eye coordination and patience.

eheh, I completed Supply Lines on my 3rd try! rah.gif

...though I got more than my share of practice before-hand because of die.gif N.O.E... I saved Supply Lines until I felt comfortable flying planes heh, now I can land them perfectly 90% of the time biggrin.gif

If you're using a computer and are using a keyboard like me...try a good keymap where all controls are within reach and you so you use the mouse only for firing the guns (that was a pain, I had to land before I started firing).

my keymapping is:
NUMPAD_4, NUMPAD_6: LEFT, RIGHT (banking left and right)
NUMPAD_1, NUMPAD_3: LOOK LEFT, LOOK RIGHT (flaps, for slight heading adjustments without banking)
NUMPAD_2, NUMPAD_8: DOWN, UP (raise the nose to climb, lower the nose to descend)
UP, DOWN (arrow keys): Increase/Decrease throttle
NUMPAD_+: Landing gear
There's no bind for primary fire in there because I suffered through it with the mouse, but I think that with the tip below, that drawback probably saved me from having to try it 100 times more than necessary biggrin.gif

A tip for you that I found helped me greatly though. DON'T get right behind your target, line yourself up diagonally, your cannons facing the target's LEFT SIDE (driver's side), damage the vehicle as much as possible, whether it be a bike, van or bicycle, and the courier will exit, this is true for all the targets, but especially the vans, because as soon as the courier exits the van, you can tear them to pieces without having to realign yourself AND saving you from a lot more damage from gunfire than is necessary! biggrin.gif

It seems to help a lot too in economizing your fuel by just doing a fly-by instead of shooting the targets on the ground. You just need to carefully aim and start blasting once you're a good distance away from them, just like the destroy target lesson in flight school.

That's how it was meant to be played...but a lot of people seem to have trouble doing it this way (including myself). There would be no flaws in that strategy though if you could kill the couriers while they were still in/on their vehicle. As it is you basically have 2 targets per "in-game target"...the courier himself and the vehicle they're using...which from (at least attempted, lol.gif) experience, means at least 2 strafes per "in-game target", thus wasting fuel and doubling the risk of crashing into street lights, walls, or whatnot else, heh.

But if you can complete the mission the way R* intended, hell, have a cookie.gif, a breadfish_by_Moto.gif and a catloaf_by_anuj.gif too! You darn-well earned them! lol.gif smile.gif

Took me 3 tries too, and wasn't that hard, but I'll be damned if like the rest of the game
a reticle would have been nice because I get sick of the "pray and spray" in the planes.

Hell, even iron sights would be cool.

I'm not sure why that was in a spoiler, but anyway, I think only three of the couriers get out of their vehicle. There's the BMX guy and the first van guy that's closest to you when you first start the mission. And then the guy in the van of NE SF. The other two couriers race off when i fire at them.

But I guess 3/5 is a good fraction. Now I want to go try that mission again (kind of) confused.gif

I would biggrin.gif

But, I can't sad.gif because I don't have SA PC yet as stated in my sig. I know it's been out already for a long time (for gamer days) but I'm saving up for something else first.

eh, I could swear the BMX and bike couriers got off when damaged enough, and they always get off the left side...then just turn them into swiss cheese without having to move the plane... but meh, I also know my memory is sometimes as reliable as my messed up die.gif video card..

on an unrelated side-note: WOO I got all GOLD in Flight school...except for circle the airstrip, circle the airstrip & land, and the hunter target destroying mission which are silver... 3 more gold though and I'll have the hunter to keep my stuntplane company! biggrin.gif

Ah, I see.

Well, on PS2 Supply Lines is twice as hard because apparently you have less fuel. On PC, I usually always finish with 2/3 fuel left.

I'd say yes I think R* made fuel decrease less quickly on the PC version, because many people seem to think it was pretty easy. Not many people finish the PS2 version in 10 tries or less as opposed to the PC version where i see people stating they did it 3 or 4 times.
