Dun worry I made this mod works now

I think I should put up a guide which will solve everything in one go

but I dunno if it's legal or not (a part which contain a illegal part but maybe not if u have full version) but that's the only way to get rid of insert CD things and Unhandled Exception thing , Musics and works for every version of Vice City inclde Australian and German versions. But I dunno if I should post it or not?

To make everything bugless there are few steps I can tell u and few files u need but installation is very simple.

It's the absolute latest up-to-the-minute SCM (he reuploads it like twice a day it seems!) but it has debug enabled.

So unless you know how to turn debug off (which I don't) it's probably not very helpful.

Or is this one not containing the debug any more? A couple of days ago it did... dontgetit.gif

The main.scm controls the mission scripts - a new version means there's been updates on missions. As far as im aware, the debug is still enabled, which means that the entire three islands are open up from the start, you have $100000 and 250 armour and health. Also, in the top left corner, your position is listed, and all of the missions are available. This allows the LC team to test out the missions and general gameplay easier. No, it wont make the game buggy again - well, it hasn't for me wink.gif!

Posting no-cd cracks of gta-vc.exe is not allowed here. No need to PM me on that issue.

And the latest scm still has some minor issues in "Sayonara Salvatore" but it should be playable. It also updates a few small bugs that most people probably never noticed.

The debug variable is on for easy testing and it can easily be changed. Just open the main.scm.txt file in Mission Builder 1.5. Then search for $MASTERLCDEBUG = 1 and change it to $MASTERLCDEBUG = 0.

But if the guide just said "then Google for a NoCD crack" that would be OK right? Stating, but not providing? confused.gif

...ahhh, I thought there'd be some easy way to disable it. As it is I loaded a save game and that circumvented the debug. But it's nice to know I can do it properly.

Re-reading it now, i think its pretty clear that the installation guide involved the use of a no-cd crack (the chances of downloading one which is German or Australian is pretty slim), and posting of no-cd cracks in gtaforums is not allowed (not to mention illegal) as Craig said. In fact, encouraging the use of them is potentially illegal too.

EDIT - Just one question: Ive just downloaded the latest scm - is the VICESCM supposed to replace the scm_vice file?
I'll be sure to back up the files first before updating in case i have any problems.

EDIT 2 - Nevermind, i figured it out.

In the latest SCM, the debug variable is off so the islands are not open, it is just like the original.

If you want it on, open the mission script and search for:

0004: $MASTERLCDEBUG = 0

Change that to a 1 and recompile.

I cant keep up with these constant scm updates! I think i'll just update once a week - that's the easiest way.

I was just mucking around in LC today, and came across three things i want to ask:
1) I know that you can add the army into LC manually, but will it be added as part of the next update, say when Sayonara
Salvatore is bug-free and a manual install v5 is released?
2) I was using the YOUWONTTAKEMEALIVE cheat to increase my wanted level - i got it up to six stars, and the army didn't appear (well, duh!) But i didn't see any FBI cars either - maybe this is just a problem with the cheat?
3) I thought that all of the spawn codes were removed a while ago - i can still spawn the delorean and the general lee with capslock and sprint...?

1. one would assume so.

2. I'm fairly certain that in Vice you ONLY had Barracks OLs and Rhinos coming after you at the six-star level; but since thier files are corrupted there's NO opposition at all.

3. When debug is on, the car-spawn is on too. That might be it.

Maybe. It seems logical i guess, but the old spawn of sprint and target (to give you a hunter and PCJ) doesn't work. I was under the impression that these were controlled by the exe anyway, and not the main.scm (in which case the debug would have no influence). I dunno dontgetit.gif!

The two spawn codes are still in the scm and they're only activated when the debug is on. And the army doesn't appear because the army.txd was corrupt. I replaced it with a older version and it now works.

And we're skipping the manual install of v5. We're putting together v6 right now. And that installer will allow you to access the files directly in case you need to install manually. It will also make installing the sound effects optional.

Awesome, i cant wait. Hopefully the Marco's Bistro interior will be finalised in time for the release of v6. Anyway, just another question (i know, im a pain in the arse with all of my questions! wink.gif):
Is there anyway to change the attributes of the other drivers in LC to make it like gta3 - you know, when a bullet hits their car and they drive like a maniac. Its lots of fun when you're bored to just go up next to a car, drive-by it, and then "drag" it throughout the city. Im hoping this can be changed.

when i double click the "gtalc_beta2_test5b_installer" a pop-up message says "The Compressed (zipped) folder is invalid or corrupted."

Heyy guys, this is my first post so i would like to say that your mod looks amazing, very well done. But i want to ask if you will be bringing out a version of this for San Andreas? Or is there a way to convert some of the files to make it work on SA or whether you just have to change the installer? But please make it for SA it would be brilliant wink.gif
