Great to hear from you ModelingMan! Feel free to hit me up with any questions/suggestions you may have when you get the time to get started again. I can't guarantee I'll have lots of time to help out or test files, but I will get back to you as soon as my time does permit.

As far as time goes, you have as much time as you possibly need. I doubt that anyone at GTAF would kick us out of here and I feel no need to rush you into getting things done faster than you're comfortable with. People have been patient so far, I think they will continue to do so.

And finally, since I may not have time to test files out, I have no problem opening this back up to a public testing ground whenever you update files. I can give you direct access to the LC FTP server (assuming it's still up and I can find that username/password). Nothing would get activity going here like having new files to bug test.

I'm still playing it and I'd love to see an update. I think I'd be even able to help somehow. For instance, I'd make a special version of PS2 Loadscreens plugin for that (IF GTA: LC somehow messes with loading texures displaying).

Happy New Year folks, all the best for 2012.

Good news. I managed to find some sources of the dinput8 hook, not the best but it's a good place to start.

I'm basically going to continue from what I have. I still have a to-do list stored in my PM inbox which is good. If there are any other problems which have arisen during my absence then please let me know.

I have the week of the 23rd off work, so I'll be able to dedicate a considerable amount of time on this then.

Shall I post a lil' suggestion here?

How about adding Echo/Premier to the mod? I think it would be a nice add-on. I already have this car in the game and it fits LC perfectly (well, can't be different, as it's regular GTA car tounge.gif).

BTW. Is SCM source still using low-level constructs?

Edit:
Is Polish translation accessable in any way, or I'd have to replace fonts with fontspl and any language with Polish? Basing on my SA knowledge, it shouldn't be very hard to make game load different TXD after changing the language from menu (you wouldn't have to use "Use Russian language" tick in the launcher then).

What about the "Welcome to Staunton Island" loading screens?
and the loading screens with the Art charactes in blue loading screens like the original III?

I agree with SilentPL, The premier GTAIII/LCS version will be a nice cae addon.

Until we can get maxorator's Vehicle Loader to work, I prefer this to be unofficial instead. (When was that car ever called Echo?)

We tried to be true to the conversion of GTA III's decompiled file from the old Mission Builder. Most of the latest updates on the SCM file from me use higher level constructs.

Island loading screens are removed, one of the feature that makes GTA:LC different from III.

There should be at least one open slot that we could use for some LCS vehicles. As long as they're set to ignore by default, I'm fine putting them in the official version.

I didn't realize there were still free slots. It looks like we can replace the Walton or Rancher. Most of the other slots seem to use sports car engine sounds. I dream of having all VC and LC vehicles at the same time, without replacing anything. Ever since Max released his tool, that can come true.

Why not use Blista Compact? It has the same engine sounds as Taxi, I've used it and it works well.

About the LC & VC vehicles at the same time - I really think that Maxo's loader is awesome, but stays out from GTA style too much to include it in such a mod.

What about it that stays out from style? According to the vehicles topic, the VC Blista Compact is currently used by the LC Blista minivan. The LC Blista Compact replaced the VC Oceanic in this mod.

The Marco Bistro interior is dark, add some lights and people in it.

What about complete Upstate Liberty? a solid one, don't block the ghost town though.

What about using the LCS PCJ-600? It seems more fitting when I put it into this game. I'm aware I've brought it up before but I've never gotten an answer about it.

Also, Ive noticed a lot of rooftop collision glitches that have yet to be solved. Most of them are in Portland but quite a few of them are in Staunton. I'll make pictures if anyone wants.

One more thing; like the post above but with more clarification, the back of SSV and the long island extending off of it are incomplete from the back side. A player can just take a helicopter and fly right over it making easy access to the underworld. A good mapper could fix this for the final release of the game but the Ghost Town is just floating there. Maybe some roads or something making a small town with cars driving around or just keeping it floating there. I just know its important to the opening scene so it probably should not be moved. Maybe making a barrier similar to when you try to go out too far in Vice City so no players go back there. Although I do like visiting the ghost town from time to time. Also the SSV hill with the observatory needs collision. I've forgotten how to make map collisions otherwise I would do it myself.

This isn't GTA:LC related, but if you have an iPad or iPhone 4 right now you can buy GTA3 for $0.99. I just purchased it and it plays very similar to the original. I miss having my bikes, helicopters, DeLoreans, and the General Lee though.
