I have done everything like I'm supposed to to play the User Tracks on GTA:SA but I am still just getting commercials even when pressing F5... nothing but commercials. I have shortcuts to my Mp3's in the form of "01 - TrackTitle.mp3" in the User Tracks folder in My Documents. I scanned and tried all three different options: Radio, Random, and Sequential. Nothing plays my music. Any suggestions on how I should troubleshoot this because I've done all I can think of. Thanks!

Hey guys, pretty simple actually. Remember how in VC had to put the actual MP3's into the Game? not so here. I'll discuss this from default view.

By default, in XP anyway, your music goes to "my Music"

right click the ENTIRE folder and pick "make shortcut"

It should make a shortcut in the same folder, my documents, which you will then cut/paste into the usert tracks folder and find your problem solved, I'll try and help witht he rest of the probs here too.

Cheers

Name's B by the way... Game is phat.

actually, i did that exact thing on my new fresh reinstall of this piece of junk of a game, and it seems it will need to be shortcuts of the "unknown album mm/dd/yy" folders, sorry about that.

I've got the opposite problem, my user tracks all play ok, but I get no adverts in between them,
It's set on radio, in the user tracks options,I've tried lots of different settings, rescanning the tracks,
set the sounds to default, and removed the mp3 shortcut etc, any ideas ?

I also cant play my mp3/ogg files in "user tracks" - have tried everything

But the folder u are regarding to, the \My Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files\User Tracks\ just dosnt exict on my computer. As it havent created the folder when installing the game.

Tried installing the game again, but no luck... Also tried creating the folder manually, but still no

Damn i hate this !!!

wow. i cannot explain that. unless you are installing to an administrative user account and playing on another?

as for playing the songs, the one thing i left out, and didnt know at the time, and the reason mine failed after a reformat, was that you NEED win media player 10. well, i heard at least nine, but you should get ten anyway. then shortcut to a foler will work flawless AFTER starting game and scanning for tracks.
